No. The comments would annoy me if Cahill said them, I said that. I don't get the big deal that I judge Osman on his ability. His job is playing football for us.

You said you'd give him "leeway" if Cahill said them and was still playing for us because of his performances on the pitch, that's why I'm saying this exaggerated faux outrage people are expressing is agenda driven.

I never said anything about my feelings towards the comments.

I said the comments were stupid. I also said the reaction to the comments would be different if another player had said them. It would be less vitriolic if Cahill or Big Dunc or Joe Royle had said them. We all know that. They've earned (in the eyes of the vast majority) leeway.

If Koldrup or Bily had said them, no one would even notice, except maybe to lol.

What you don't seem to realize is that Osman made a tactical error here by making these statements while playing for the club.

He's taking a stance against his own fanbase while we're still supposed to cheer for him.

That's just dumb.

Edited to add:
I don't appreciate the comparison with Kopites because I'm rationally disagreeing with your assessment.

So it's agenda driven nonsense.

The agenda being that Grasseon Snideman is a snitching jealous little dwarf who has been huge piles of steaming chob for large parts of his Everton career?

Works for me, anywhere I can countersign this agenda?

No. I'd argue that not calling those people out would be agenda driven.

He said stupid stuff. If they said it, it would still be stupid. But we'd let them get away with it. We wouldn't let most people get away with it.

Ergo, the agenda is to protect our legends, not to tear down our mediocre players soon to be forgotten.

That's makes absolutely no sense.

Obviously a little ego in the Cahill comment: I imagine Osman saw/sees himself as a better player yet knows he'll never receive similar adulation. I don't think it's a particularly unfair point to make, it's just better to swerve it if you don't want to look like a bitter bell.

His Moyes comments aren't surprising.

No. It does. You're just on a defend Ossie rampage.

Simple:
The agenda is to protect our legends. If they say daft things (Hi Big Nev!) we ignore them or paper them over.

If a player isn't a legend, we don't ignore it.

Ossie isn't a legend. He said something stupid. He's getting slated. The agenda doesn't factor into it.

Skem banter oi oi

1/ I disagree with Osman about Tim Cahill here. He deserved a send off.

2/ I don't think Moyes or Phil Neville deserved a guard of honour, they should've just left.

3/ Feels all a bit 'storm in a teacup' to me if I'm honest. A little too close to 'crying and shaking here' on Twitter at least, but I get some folks' disappointment.

4/ If Osman was a member here, he'd have been kitt'd for this.

That whole send off for Moyes was ridiculous, he should have been locked out of Goodison when he agreed to become UTD's manager.

Celebrating 10+ years of Mediocre Moyes, absolute joke. Thankfully Neville and Round went with him.
