azz ive spoken to half a dozen staff and players ,every single one of them r made up with martinez, i know of lads who played with him at wigan over 12 year ago ,and he still phones them to keep in touch ,

I'm glad of this. He has really grown on me recently. Just need the results to start finishing in our favour. This weekend would be a good start.

He's been bang average for the most of his career... popping up about two times a season with a half decent goal which gets him massively off the hook.

If he was a foreigner he'd have been booed out of town years ago.

Has anyone noticed with Osman that if he misses even one game it takes him a while to get back into the swing of things? His performances depend a lot on rythm, confidence and routine IMO.

Agree. Still think he'll be a decent option off the bench for another season or two.

Definitely has something to offer in the final third maybe as a sub for Barkley just not up to starting in the middle.

I can't fault his attitude, work rate or his love for the club. As somebody said above he doesn't pick the team and he does what he can when he is in but unfortunately he is a limited and inconsistent player. Not going to get on a players back just for that though.

Like Hibbo, although obviously much better, he will always have Everton legend status for me.

DM burnt him out last season never got a rest - looks jaded so far this season with the new additions he should not drop down to the bench and rest up and come back to benefit the team as he has looked leggy so far this season!

Like Osman as a person, think he's a good fella'. And a good character to have in the dressing room. He's just past it now, he's never exactly had pace, but he's lost what little pace he had. He's even getting a bit sloppy with his technical ability too, which has and is always been his best trait. He's getting older so it's to be expected, he'll be a squad player for the next two seasons and then i think he may go into coaching.

By the way Martinez has been speaking it seems pretty certain Barry will be one of the first names on the team sheet, and then it'll be McCarthy/ gibson along side barry, with Barkley infront. I think Osmans now bottom of the pecking order.

Leon has been a great servant for the club & when played in his best position, has often excelled.

He's not getting any younger though & I don't see Martinez playing him in the more advanced role that he suits & I'd see him as more of a squad player for the rest of his career.

However, he's never deserved the kind of stick that he's got from some of the clueless boo boys amongst our fanbase.

This all day long, he's an okay player who were told is out of position no matter were he plays, hes a cm playing on the wing, hes a am playing cm etc etc, he has never has the physical attributes to be a top footballer and should have been used as cover as the decent utility man he is, rather than being made undroppable when he doesn't deserve that status, which is why fans get fed up with him. Blame Moyes or Blame Osman or even fans, he's a multi millionaire out of it, when he retires he will have the repsect and warmth from fans, even those who criticised him, hes earned it. But the fact of the matter is right now he is grim, and if he keeps getting picked and keeps being grim, people are going to slate him
