This all day long, he's an okay player who were told is out of position no matter were he plays, hes a cm playing on the wing, hes a am playing cm etc etc, he has never has the physical attributes to be a top footballer and should have been used as cover as the decent utility man he is, rather than being made undroppable when he doesn't deserve that status, which is why fans get fed up with him. Blame Moyes or Blame Osman or even fans, he's a multi millionaire out of it, when he retires he will have the repsect and warmth from fans, even those who criticised him, hes earned it. But the fact of the matter is right now he is grim, and if he keeps getting picked and keeps being grim, people are going to slate him

My issue is, that he was being slated when he was playing well ffs. He's always been the target when people were looking for a fall guy & they often stoned him to death after a good performance, I've always found it laughable tbh.

So far this season, he's been average at best & that appears to have given some vindication to those who've been slating him for as long as he's been in the side.....

Ossie has always given 100% in an Everton shirt. For that, he gets my respect. Also, he scored one of my favourite ever Everton goals that I've seen live (Larissa.)

I think he will not be first choice, but a fresh Ossie coming off the bench versus tired legs could DEFO have an impact on games.

+1

BINGO! Why do we always need a 'boo boy'?

Unlucky Leon, you've taken Neville's place as the whipping boy for some of our fans.

Agreed. Mirrallas has been equally as bad so far IMO but receives nowhere near the same amount of criticism. Leon isn't a bad player but he is one of the weaker links nowadays, which is a mark of our improvement around him.

You simply don't understand the game imo.

Leon has been a great servant for the club & when played in his best position, has often excelled.

He's not getting any younger though & I don't see Martinez playing him in the more advanced role that he suits & I'd see him as more of a squad player for the rest of his career.

However, he's never deserved the kind of stick that he's got from some of the clueless boo boys amongst our fanbase.
lad all you seem to do is kick off on lads who dont go ahead with what you say , ive been against osman for 3 or 4 years now , trust me am not clueless as you seem to point out , the lad is not good enough to play for r great football club any more , thats a fact ,or should i say in my opinion. if hes selected ill get behind him for the 90 mins , off the park its a different matter . this thread should be closed now mods turning into bitching

I think we can all agree when Osman is on form, he's spectacular. I think we can also agree that he often goes missing, isn't physical enough to be a cm, and shouldn't be starting based on current performances this season. All this debate about whether his good spells outweigh his bad spells or his bad spells outweigh his good spells is pointless and pathetic, it's the footballing discussion equivalent of touching oneself whilst looking at a bra advertisement.

The problem is that he's just not good enough to be starting for us though mate.

Its not pathetic and is quite relavent. We all expect players to have a level of consistency in the premier league and that is Osmans problem and always has been. He does have his good spells where he is a decent level but his bad spells and his level is quite bad. You can't carry players like Osman in his bad spells therefore he weakens our side considerably. There are many players that go through bad spells but usually they are of a level that it is not too detrimental to the team. Basically when Osman is good he is good and when he is bad he sucks big time. Too inconsistent for my liking

Like his devotion to us...but that isnt enough as he isnt guaranteed a first 11 place and shouldnt of for the last 12 months..but the rat Moyes was one of his lickle soldiers..Thanks Leon and tara...ridiculous contract he was given as well..

...he's not playing well but he doesn't deserve to be written off just yet. If the acquisition of new players means Ossie wont be an automatic starter it reflects that we have a decent squad.

That 2 year contract was worth it alone just to keep some home grown established figures in the dressing room for the new manager. Whether he plays or not he is still influential to are, what is apparently, great team spirit. Don't think enough people realise how big a part this plays at a football club.

He is an abysmal footballer, we need to jettison, and replace with better, to progress.

That's a footballing opinion, not personal, I'm sure he's good with kids, kind to animals and provides an excellent BJ to the manager for picking him.
