He's given us something different in the last few weeks since coming back into the team, but this underlines exactly why we need to move for a playmaker in the summer. When a player this limited and at his age is genuinely amazed at being left out of an Everton first team you know how chronic things have been allowed to become in the creative department.

Quite agree Dave. Osman thinks a lot of himself but as you say he is limited and getting on, pity he does not move on, now that is what we need.

I can't wait for the day he retires. The way everyone feels about Howard now, everyone being desperate to see the back of him, I've felt that way about Osman for about 6 years.

Mate, take pity on me, I've loathed him for a decade, the bad Skem snitch

34 in May.

If he's angling and gets to become one of the first names on the team sheet next season and not the bit part player he was last season that'd underline how far we've regressed as a team.

RM needs to get in that market place and bring a couple of creative players in.

34, crikey, same age as Barry. Wonder exaclty what are players ages are and what length of contract each is holding?

It's a group of players we all thought when Moyes was in his last season would need gutting.

This is the task Martinez faced and he sought initially to adapt them to his style rather than begin the process of getting rid of them. It worked last season, but this summer he should have acted decisively to start the reconstruction of the squad away from a lot of ageing players. He's reaped the whirlwind on that. I just hope he doesn't make that mistake again this summer.

Out:

Distin
Pienaar
Hibbert
Barry
Howard
Alcarez

I agree with moving everyone on that list on, but most of the older players seem to be defenders of defensive midfielders. I think it would be worthwhile hanging on to Osman, even giving him a start most games. Sure, he's infuriating but we tend to play better as a team when he's on the pitch.

Unusual comments from Osman. I think I would like to check out the full interview to see if the comments were taken out of context.

If not, I think he may realise that his importance in the squad is diminishing and doesn't like it.

Not taken out of context, he was vocal in these comments around September, even going as far as voicing displeasure about the manager and his team mates, but not to the newspapers of course.

My god

The only culture this wool snide identifies with is the culture of denunciation

OSMAN OUT NOW

The depressing thing is his replacement will probably be on a free and not even as good.

Unless we sell someone for big money of course.
