He failed his medical today and the club don't want to risk paying such a large amount even if it's in instalments. They are trying to renegotiate for a loan deal, to take a look at how -whatever his problem is-holds up over the next few months of the season before spending big cash, no guarantee Twente will let that happen mind. That's what's happened.

Where are you getting this info from?

He did not fail his medical.

He did not meet the full standards required to meet the specs. of an EFC medical inspection, to the extent EFC are on the verge of pulling the plug on the move, I would call that failing. He has an underlying problem that was brought up by medical staff as a concern, he failed the medical. I am not just plucking this stuff out of thin air to p*ss people off. It will have to be on our terms now if it is to happen, I would say it's more likely to fall through with that in mind.

is it done yet?

It's not entirely implausible that he hasn't not signed for Everton at this moment in time, but obviously this may or may not change in the not so distant future. But I can confirm that he has not not signed but neither has he failed to not sign.

Hope this clears things up.

A failed medical means that you are unfit to sign for the club you are taking the medical for. If he had failed the medical the club wouldn't still be trying to sign him as the doctor wouldn't have approved him joining the club.

He passed the medical, but underlying issues which could come into play in the future were discovered.

THIS!

It's been said about a dozen times now, it's an underlying issue which is long term.
Everton have done what's right and is trying to compromise so we can get a better deal, FC Twente need to play ball, Everton is taking risk.

Yeh. Not claiming to be ITK, but, from what I can gather from the conjecture that is out there so far, is that he may have an issue with his knees - nothing atm but potentially serious. Now, I do really want him to sign (whenever I've seen him - i'll admit - no more than 5 or 6 times, he's looked good - and the type of player who would suit our current squad). However, we may have seen this opportunity to haggle on the price slightly. Hopefully this doesn't back-fire on us and we can still sign him. There aren't many better players of his type that are available for 8 mil or under.

But, a problem with his medical isn't failing it.
