Leroy Fer

I'm glad we didn't waste money on a very high risk (albeit talented) player. We've had a bad enough record with injuries, can't afford to have another.

And I think between the players we have we can cover central midfield. Hitz Neville Gibson all sitters, osman fellaini pienaar are mobile playmakers. If we sign a decent right mid now I'll be happy.

I can't believe we'd announce the deal before it went through, pure idiocy from the Everton front office

No, we really shouldn't.

The first decent amount of money we have had to spend in ages, why on earth would we want to risk £8m worth on a player who could break down after a season and end up costing tens of thousands in medical bills on top of his wages ?

Just because other clubs take the risk on players doesn't mean we should or can afford to do so.

We obviously didnt have anywhere near the upfront amount from the start.

Am i the only one who thinks that its right to pull out?

better to look at other options that suit us and our budget..

Fer sounded like a boss transfer for us. but we cant spend that kinda money on someone who is potentially a risk.

by pulling out of the deal, they could be calling twentes bluff .. if not, im sure we have other targets... odjija-ofoe anyone??

This is what they replaced his knee ligaments with during his op!

Its a strange one for sure. He can't be that bad if we are still willing to sign him. We either take the risk or we don't. Only the club know what the medical says so if its not worth the risk then fine. My main concern now is the fact other clubs know we have the funds to back a 10 million euro transfer (albeit this is probably in installments) meaning our negotiating powers are reduced with only 30 hours to go before window shuts. We really have shot ourselves in the foot (or Knee?!) by announcing it on website before he had medical or even agreed terms.

Club are happy to have him with concessions on fees going forward. This is NOT about the feller's fitness. The issue is Everton wanting a copper-fastened insurance plan for the future with him that is unrealistic to say the least.

This club are rubbish at transfers.

Bottom line.

Why? Its not over yet.

Robert Elstone: "We have to put club's interests first...it didn't work out and we have to be very careful how we spend our money."

Elstone: "We're still looking. There are other options for us
