The question of Ba's success is interesting. Obviously the vast majority of players with knee problems never fully recover to their top form, it's a career killer injury if ever there is one. Ba seems to be bucking that trend. Over in America Adrian Peterson almost broke an NFL record this season, the season after getting his ACL reconstructed.

So it seems like they're getting better at this knee stuff now, and maybe we did miss out on an opportunity. However, it does stand to reason that if a certain fee was agreed before we knew about the knee, surely that fee should be lowered after we find out about it. Maybe we missed an opportunity here, but the people citing one instance of a player turning it around (Ba) need to get a grip as well.

Robert Elstone: "We have to put club's interests first...it didn't work out and we have to be very careful how we spend our money."

Elstone: "We're still looking. There are other options for us

Other options!!!! Other options lads!!!!!! Lets all go mental speculating as to what the other options are!!!!! IT'S NOT OVER YET!!!!!!

How do you know it's even the same issue that Ba had with his knee?

Even if its not, people have been saying that it was a risk to take since his kneecap would fall any minute. It doesn't have to be same problem, but the risk is there and we have to take if we want to get good players.
