Its a strange one for sure. He can't be that bad if we are still willing to sign him. We either take the risk or we don't. Only the club know what the medical says so if its not worth the risk then fine. My main concern now is the fact other clubs know we have the funds to back a 10 million euro transfer (albeit this is probably in installments) meaning our negotiating powers are reduced with only 30 hours to go before window shuts. We really have shot ourselves in the foot (or Knee?!) by announcing it on website before he had medical or even agreed terms.

Do you think Benfica et al will keep abreast of our transfer dealings by reading our website?

He's hardly missed a game the past few seasons and now all of a sudden he's a crock?

I think this is what gets me most. Trouble is, it may well be that we can't get the necessary level of insurance cover for him - hence looking at changing the payment plan so as to mitigate the risk throughout the length of his contract. If that's the case - not much we can do. Guaranteed someone else who can afford to will take the risk, he'll barely miss a game and become a worldy - it's the Everton way!

so you would take the risk on a 8-9mill player with wot looks like a injury that could turn out to be long term...we all know we have hardly any money, theres chance it might not recur, but i wouldnt take the risk, glad everton never

Robert Elstone: "We have to put club's interests first...it didn't work out and we have to be very careful how we spend our money."

Elstone: "We're still looking. There are other options for us

Well he better bring that interest to fruition, because if we go the rest of the season without strengthening in this window and slip off the pace there'll be a lot of recriminations and finger pointing...mostly in his and Billy liars direction.

Never mind lads, Phil Neville can play there until Gibson returns for a maximum of 2 games.

Great to see the club are really pushing the boat out for this 4th spot and CL football next season.

yeah right

There will be 5 minutes of moaning then back to normal

It is quite hilarious though isn't it.

In a word no, its more embarrasising! Why does this lways happen to us over transfers....I can understand the caution but seriously come one who conducts our medicals is he ex MI6. The lad was only out for 2 months and has been back since November, whats the bet he's goes on to play until he's 40.

Seriously Everton you know how to let us down. We'll sit back and watch now while Leroy goes on to become a susperstar and think what could have been ...........
