This is an absolute facking disgrace. I can’t believe that we are still doing fake bids in 2013, I thought that had come to an end a few years ago. I don’t think there is a lot wrong with this guy’s knee at all, and this is just Everton messing about again.

I’m starting to wonder how genuine the ‘bid’ for Ofoe was now. “We worked on the deal right up until 11:59 and submitted the paperwork at 12:00, but UEFA decided that we were four seconds late with the paperwork†– yeah right.

It wouldn’t surprise me if we never had enough money to buy Fer at the agreed rate, and I bet you any ‘replacement’ comes at a fraction of Fer’s agreed fee. In fact, we will probably offer a club the exact same deal that we are offering Twente right now, and we won't see any bids coming anywhere near 8.5 million pound in total.

Ps. Fairly sure FC Twente would have something to say if their player was flying to England and they hasn't received a bid.

So we move on - the only grain of hope we should carry from this is that Moyes wanted (and seemingly got) the board to splash £8.6M on a player for a particular area of the pitch (not dissimilar to Ofoe in fact). We can only hope the money is (now) in place to buy someone similar - is Danny Graham that sort of player? Dunno.

Putting appearance clauses in for players who have a medical history is common. Nothing wrong with what the club have done. We can't afford to pay £8.6m guranteed for someone who may brake down.

I'd agree Andy, but we did that after agreeing a fee, why would Twente then accept a lesser offer, if we were the club doing the selling, I'd expect us to tell them to do one.

This only seems to happen to Everton, do we not know how to sign players or not? Announce the deal when we actually sign the player, look at Holtby at spurs, only announced when he signed a pre season contract. We are made a laughing stock in the premiership everytime we seem to go for a player, I think we have the worst transfer policy in the premier ship.

Why are a lot of you so arsed about this? Good player, no question, but with our record of injuries in the squad spunking nearly £9m on a player who could end up spending a lot of time on the sidelines will have us feeling worse than we are now. Need to just move on.

Yeah, because clubs inform players when they are making a fake bid. A fake bid that involves 'agreeing' a fee that Everton know they cannot afford, before trying to do exactly what we did with Lescott and Wolves.

Any 'replacement' will come at a fraction of the 'agreed' Fer fee, and we won't buy another player at anything like 8.5 million. Any bid won't be in excess of what Everton are offering Twente now.
