Let’s talk about Nottingham Forest

The lower leagues are littered with clubs who "dared to dream" to get out of the championship and escape their punishments. Most are now out of it, just from the wrong end.
I'm a bit surprised there isn't a pair of sides done the shared stadium option and gone really big. Halving running costs and having a monster stadium somewhere prime for summer events and such that'd get it's share of internationals. There's a model for it and it's a lot of bargaining power with those that run the game, taking on two sides aint as easy as isolating just one. Who and where? naturally look to the midlands really, probably somewhere near to where hs2 now ends. ffs.

Is there a set of fans that would go for that anywhere?

I think it's finding two faded damsels and promising them a new time in the limelight if they can operate together for each others good. With good travel links it'd mean being able to cut away pricing as there'd be a huge stadium to fill. Ran right it could be amazing. Two faded southern belle's, fallen on hard times offered a road to redemption.... forget the football, I might write a book....

Where can you see upfront fees and how do we know the 'known transfer figures', how they've been put through the books and over what period? Even when accounts are published this kind of detailed info doesn't really filter into media reports for the vast majority of deals.

For instance I've read something that states that part of the appeal for bringing in Beto and Chermiti over other options was that both selling clubs would accept delayal of the first payment till next season. But both are variously reported as Everton spending around £25M - £35M for the pair up front plus add-ons down the line.

Where did those figures come from?

The 90s rumour that 4-1 female to male students lured a lot in to the uni open day from my sixth form
Stayed there after the game the other weekend and it's good ratio wise, probably 50:50 which is a lot better than most places these days
