Let’s talk about Nottingham Forest

They’re gonna have exactly the same problem we’ve had for years, they’re not gonna be able to get rid of the absolute wasters due to their wages. As I said they’ve barely got a saleable asset to show for the absurd money they’ve spent. They’re already struggling to shift players like O’Brien, Richards, Shelvey, Dennis, Freuhler and Bowler, all of whom cost them actual money. One of the strangest transfer strategies I’ve seen in a while.
It was super weird to me to see a team get promoted and go with the QPR about 10 years ago transfer market strategy of "spend a bunch of money on players who at best would be squad fillers for top half clubs." I was actually surprised at how well they did last year, but there was never any chance that it would work out well in the long run.

What does that say to the players that got you promoted.
Didn't the side that get promoted depend almost entirely on loaned players?

No idea what the loan ratio was. You can only have 5 in a match day squad so the majority, over the course of a 46 game season would have still been contracted players.

Even so, the fact still remains that the model of buying 4 teams worth of players in less than 18 months is ridiculously stupid.

So erm, this looking for compo from sides relegated.... how many times can these sides go to court? "Everton have a ten point deduction, see you in court toffees", "Forest penalised, another whirl in court then", city, chelsea, newcastle, man utd.... compo a piece from all and sundry... "We're due our day in court, we've been cheated and deserve our case be heard (how many times over?)"

So let's say Forest get done for P&S, do we claim back the money that the ratbag clubs are claiming from us as they are bigger spenders?

And do they then have to go after City or Chelsea to get that money back?

I'm guessing they had more than 5 loans in with rotation or different needs becoming apparent in the January window. I think another thing was a lot of players in their last year during that promotion season. Still like you say the majority contracted but not necessarily for the season following promotion as well.

They sure signed a lot of players when they came up but I don't think it was as extraordinary as some make out in their particular circumstances. I think they'd planned for another season in The Championship and Cooper pulled a rabbit out of the hat leading to hurried recruitment.

There may also have been an element of let's bring in more than we necessarily need as we're not sure how many of them are gonna work out. Throw enough at the wall and see what sticks.

First you'd have to see which clubs actually sue Everton, whether the other clubs you mention do receive 'sporting' penalties rather than solely fiscal, what points deductions any sporting penalty would be and how that would have affected relegation places depending on what seasons those charges stem from.

Personally I'd stop theorising over click-bait sensationalism combined with hugely biased accountancy guesswork and just wait and see.

And nothing before him
They did win two FA Cups pre Cloughie though. In terms of clubs i hate Forest are well down the list.

I'll always respect them for sticking it to the RS in the late 70's as well!

I hate the rs, Man United, Leeds and the Geordies but Forest are alright with me.;) Sure no wonder some of them hate us, with the stuff a few keyboard warriors on here are saying.lol
