He's been here 7 months. His priorities are going to be survival first.

We haven't had a manager last 2 seasons since Martinez who funnily enough gave Barkley, Davies, Pennington, Connolly, Dowell, Garbutt, Browning to name a few debuts and starts.

Doesn't matter about hit rate either. It's about seeing if they can cut it by playing them.

Now they get to sit on the bench to make up the numbers on a thin squad that usually puts 2 keepers on it, and never get minutes.

In any normal PL club he would be out on loan already, possibly even to a Championship club just like what Warrington has done : Lg1 now at Championship. But as we are a basket case with no attackers, he is still here and will probably even be on the bench for Fulham

I've only seen him twice. The Chelsea draw under El Gordo and yesterday. Both times he helped stretch the game and gave defences something to worry about off the bench.

I could see Ashley Young giving him stick a couple of times about positioning and link up. Lots to learn.

Who knows if he'll make it. Assuming we don't bring anyone in (in light of Dyche’s comments flagged in the Dyche thread) he might be useful. We might have no choice!

It's our position that causes the problem. If you're one of the top six you can afford to blood youngsters knowing that if they don't perform the quality in your side will still have enough to get results. With us we are one defeat away from the bottom three with a team with maybe three players who would make the bench of a top six team.

Exactly.

It's a policy from some solid foundations we don't have

Hence we're throwing out or selling most of our youngsters

Can't be worse than Maupay
He looks like a wide player that could be useful off the bench or in switching it up, like Iwobi moving into the centre
Hopefully Dyche can get something out of him and he takes his chances.

That's exactly the point. Maupay offers nothing, we have ample evidence of that. Dobbin could not do worse than him, so why not give him a go?

Not seen him but perhaps currently its:

LW: McNeil / Gray
RW: Iwobi / Dobbin

Sell Gray and replace with someone who can play either wide position and also rotate with Doucoure.

Dobbin should get mins off the bench and develop while in the first team squad.

I disagree with this position. It’s one thing if you have a better player holding the fort and getting you results, but it’s the likes of Neal Maupay keeping you out of the team. You are better off looking for solutions in your own side instead of trying to hit a square peg in a round hole. We have to have a pathway to the first team or every promising youngster (Ish comes to mind) will leave. It’s cancer for young players because they have no chance here

Young players will only be able to prove their worth in the Prem with a decent run of games,as I said the Sky Six have the quality in depth to be able to give their young players that chance without the stress that the likes of Dobbin would come under if he replaced an injured Maupay and he missed a couple of chances in games we ended up losing by the odd goal. Our fan base would ruin him.

That must be the worst bunch in the division surely.
