Give the lad some premier league experience. He's looked fairly bright when he's played, and he surely can't be any worse than what we have. The amount of players we're sending out on loan or selling, and the lack of any incoming transfer activity, it seems like we're going to struggle to fill a bench this season! Having Dobbin in and around the first team and getting 15/20 minutes regularly at premier league level will be good for his development.

We're talking about him leading the forward line for Premier league club here...which he may well be doing considering Lewin injury record and the clubs inability to bring another forward inn.

Offering up goals against Torquay and Wycombe isn't going cut the mustard..Am not just putting the lad down for the sake of it,Lords knows I'd love us to be bringing through academy lads but from what I've seen in my extremely humble opinion he's not good enough.

And if he proves me wrong that's genuinely great and also reaffirms that fact you could write what I know on that back of a ciggy paper.

He ain't leading any line and he hasn't before in pro football.

I think that’s a totally different discussion. It’s a bit ignorant to dismiss him because he doesn’t fit that roll.

The point here is whether Lewis Dobbin might be a useful addition to the squad. I think it’s important to make that distinction & discuss if he might have something to offer.

Any decent young player won't be in under 21s squad for long several matches at most then first team regular Gordon was typical of this. Anyone who hangs around in under 21s is destined to be bread and butter lower league football. There maybe the odd exception, Dowellat Rangers but very rare.

Is he that bad? We complain about not giving youth a chance but when he may actually get game time we get shouts like this? He's looked the best out of the youngsters in pre-season. I trust the manager to judge if he's ready or not.

Im working on the basis that we have McNeil and Danjuma ahead of him and you would hope we would replace Gray with a better option.

Of course the McNeil injury means its possible he is kept around now.

…yep, certainly leapfrogged Cannon which is a bit of a surprise but as we know from our discussions in the Youth thread, he has looked a class act at times.
