I was young (17 and a couple months) and it was mt first concert on my own. I lost my sh*t. If you know about them, it was them at their live apex. They were ON it, unreal. Maybe 3-5k people? White Zombie and Crowbar were the openers. June'/July 92, if I remember right. I used to have my signed (by Dime) ticket to reference the date but I gifted it to a local radio station as their logo was on the back of it as a sponsor.

Yup, pure luck. Celebrity Theatre has a rotating center stage and I just happened to be sitting next to the entrance/exit band tunnel. Both Dime and Vinny had come out to the tunnel to check out White Zombie and that's when I managed to get his sig. So much good stuff there. Love Sleater-Kinney and have been a fan since the Dig me In/Out days. Never saw them though. My only claim to fame was that my friends got married in Olympia and we went to a bar where they frequent and sure enough they were sitting around a table, chatting amongst themselves, not being bothered (as that was the unspoken custom) and this was like 2001 or so prior to Portlandia and other fame.

Still in a bit of mourning over Janet Weiss leaving the band. Saw them once with her and once after she was gone, and the difference was stark. I have been putting off listening to their most recent album out of fear I will like it.

Good times. Zero swag, I would have been disappointed, but the lead singer of Helstar had not snuck out and hugged my kid during Flotsam's set, yet. What a guy.

The best one involves Sir Chuck and my sister, and the only question that remains is whether he became the best man on the planet. I'm still taking the guy that snuck up from behind and hugged my kid. That was some first-rate stuff.

I had a ticket to see NIN at the Barrowlands in 1994 for the Downward Spiral tour, but wasn't able to go and had to sell it in the end, to my regret. Kind of assumed I'd never get to see them, but almost exactly 20 years later I got a ticket for the O2 and they didn't disappoint - incredible performance.

So we have Enter Shikari booked for Feb in Manchester. £40 for the ticket, it's all standing, so if you want a good spec, just get there early to get near the front.
He's happy with that.

The other band he wanted to see (me also on both counts!) was Bring Me The Horizon. They're playing M&S arena in Liverpool in Jan.
Told him to book them this time as I had Glasto to do before I could pay for any more stuff. Then this month I notice he still hasn't ordered them.
So I did it as they are nearly sold out. Ended up with tickets a fair of the way back, still a good view and £50.
He's spat his dummy out and doesn't want to go and pay £50 for seats miles back. Tried explaining that if he wanted front row standing for an effing stadium band he should have booked himself the minute they went on sale and paid the £110 they wanted for front standing tickets before they sold out.

I'm going with a friend instead.
