A) we won at stamford bridge in the cup.

And B) There's been a few quite close games. The 2-2 where pienaar chipped almunia, the 2-2 in dalglish's first game, the 3-3 at Stamford bridge, the 0-0 at Stamford bridge where jo missed eight sitters, the game today where we had a perfectly good goal disallowed.

Last day in 07 was the worst for me. 1-0 at the Bridge late on and then they blatantly foul our man and go up the other end and score. Cue Moyes to the stands. Would have got 5th if it hadn't been for that as well ffs.

Think it is being a bit harsh on moyes this never winning at a top 4 team. Only the very top sides go to the likes of the emirates, Stamford bridge and win. Bar the RS and arsenal we have beat all the other teams no problem at Goodson. I am sure many managers (fergie included) would like our record against city. Don't get me wrong i would love to winning regularly at these grounds ala united, but we are not at that level and to do that you need investment. By all means slate moyes for his tactics against Wigan in the cup, but this season we have a good a record as anyone against the top sides.

Pretty shocked people are accepting our record in these games as stemming from bad luck and some poor finishing.

My whole point is that these records against these teams perfectly sum us up at this point. It's what separates us from being quite good, to very good. As long as we count these draws as good results and generally the best we can hope to get, then we won't be going anywhere.

I'll accept there have been the occasional game at these grounds where we've took the game to the opposition, but the majority of times it's been about "keeping it tight" and getting a point. Sure, a point in itself isn't that bad, but to not win one single game in 10-15 years? Seriously. That's absolute turd, and it goes beyond some poor finishing or refereeing decisions.

Our performance today exactly sums up my view. It was alright, sort of floated along and looked happy with a point. The game was there to be won, and a refereeing decision doesn't overshadow the fact our performance was generally meandering.

This. In spades.

Decent result without ever creating the great chance, fellaini unlucky from that free kick, coleman could have done better with his crossing the few times he got in the back, and as always the final pass in ther half could have been so much better,Jags/Distin brilliant defending when it was needed, neither keeper really tested-howard did well to smother the sturridge chance.

I don't think people are saying there happy with it or wouldn't like better but are just being realistic that these top 4 sides over the years up until recently have been a LOT better than us. If moyes had gone to these grounds with equal or better squads than the opposition and had the same record then fair enough but he hasn't, he's gone with inferior teams.

I don't think those results "sum us up" as you put it. Having 30-40M less to spend each season than those teams sums up where we are at the moment IMO.

Great first weekend off in months and was able to watch a game on TV - we get robbed by the Referee.

I thought our defence was fantastic and I have no idea why Gerrard was man of the match.

Mirallas performance was disappointing.

I think we missed an opportunity today. They played crap. If we was in the right frame of mind I reckon we could have taken them and not just by the one goal.

Thats utter rubbish. So when the likes of Wigan, Bolton and Norwich etc have been to these places and won, they have better teams? Sorry, that's just apologist rhetoric for Moyes' negativity in these games.

we played as crap as them

we defended well, they probably did as well, other than that both teams were piss poor

and dont even get me ****in started on that purple smoke bomb? What the ****??

Is Barkley hurt?

If not, KOFF Moyes. Seriously, he can go tomorrow and I'll pay for his bus fair

One of the best prospects this club has ever had and Moyes has consistently failed to utilise him correctly

A shambles that he didn't even make the bench today

If he's injured, fair enough. But if he was fit, he should have been on the bench and even possibly started

KOFF Moyes. Now and forever

Tonsilitis, mate.

It's not Gibson's job to create, in the same way that it's not up to Mirallas, Pienaar, Osman etc. to anchor the midfield and make tackles/track runners/hold the ball etc.

I don't think it's too much to ask Gibson to occasionally make a forward pass to a team mate. At the moment he plays it sideways or back, and that's not enough. It's the first step in yet another hoof. I expect more from a DM than simply to play as an advanced third CB and his contribution needs to increase after he has his surgery.
