The ref just added insult to injury by keeping the Liverpool fans happy.
If Howards red card against Sunderland was anything to go by - i was very surprized he was not even shown yellow last night -
i regard both as very soft penalties - the type Everton never ever gets

I dont think you're going to get an argument over any of that.

Thanks pal, means a lot coming from somebody who hates Billy Liar as much as I do.

PS which top striker do you think we'll sign before Friday's deadine?

I thought it was a dive as well now i think about it. Granted a lot from the game has escaped me (on purpose) but i remember that. I also remember that michael Owen was saying at the time about howard 'gave him a reason to go down'.

See that is what i am sick of, atitudes like that. A player is fouled or he dives, simple as. I am sick of hearing strikers have a right to go down, they don't! They get volleyed and the ref doesnt stop the play then that is bad refereeing. If they get tackled and the defender doesnt win the ball, penalty. A goal keeper who makes an attempt to GET THE F 'IN BALL is not inviting a player to throw himself to the ground.

Pretty much the state of our game is noone can even touch the goal keeper or be near him in any way when you score a goal. When a player has the ball in the box, the goal keeper has no right to even dive at him because acording to the experts the player can just kick the keeper and go down to win one.

Liverpool are getting pens for next to nothing do you think any there pens they have had we're pens I think not not one was genuine I wouldn't be suprised if they got beat at west brom and we tanked villa

My ratings of the players:

Howard - Has been great this season, but was poor for at least two of the goals last night, especially that ridiculous charge out for Sturridge to casually lob it over him. Seeningly no communication in the entire defence, which is unforgivable!
-
Stones - A terrible performance, constantly caught out of position and targetted by the Liverpool strikers and couldn't handle it. Hopefully he'll learn from it and end up a better player for it. A huge learning curve.
Jagielka - Painful performance from somebody who looked less than half fit. Looked like Gazza tracking back when Suarez was cantering away for their fourth.
Alcaraz - Same as Jagielka. Awful.
Baines - Anonymous performance. Has been bog standard all season long.
-
Mirallas - Top performance, great effort and never stopped even after we went four down. Real good character from him.
Barkley - Not fit. No influence on game apart from one good effort on goal.
Barry - Game completely passed him by and another couple of soft fouls leading to a predictable yellow card.
McCarthy - Didn't notice him the whole game.
Pienaar - Painful to watch. Slow, cumbersome, looked like he couldn't be arsed which in reality was probably because he was nowhere near full fitness.
-
Lukaku - Can't really comment but so unlucky to be taken out by the useless Barry. Thanks for the memories son.

Subs:
Naismith - lol
Osman - No worse than any other of the central midfielders
McGeady - Had no chance to affect the game.

Manager:
Martinez - Looks to me like he picked far too many players who were nowhere near being fit. Jagielka, Alcaraz, Pienaar, Barkley. We were all made up with them playing, but had we known they were going to be so sluggish we'd have wanted them left out. You can't play half a team who can barely run as they're knackered and need to recover from injuries. Needs to decide whether to keep up the pretence that we have money to spend or come out and tell the fans what they already know which is we're broke and nobody is coming in.

A terrible night.

Can't really argue with that. I was surprised/disappointed that McGeady didn't start - he must have been as fit as Pienaar. Maybe Johnny H should have played instead of Alcaraz too? Whatever, that CB partnership must never play again. With hindsight I reckon Hibbert - Alcaraz/Jags - Stones - Baines would have been a better back four bet.

I think a high percentage of our squad was not match fit last night. Shambles on Bobby's part I think. Should have played hibbo an osman from the off.

Well yeah. The trick is not to lose a derby by 4 clear goals, if you don't want moaning really.

Clearly wasnt the point i made was it? Who i responded too is moaning about the likes of Jagielka, Barkley and Pienaar starting, when he would of quite clearly moaned had Hibbert and Osman started when the chances are, if they did the three mentioned would of been on the bench.

Is right. Grates my carrot how players go down at the slightest whiff of contact. And the miraculous screaming/writhing/jump-up-and-carry-on thing too. They should be giving out those energy drinks at accident scenes and ERs.

Amazing how much contact a player can take if he actually wants to stay on his feet (thinking rugby).
