2021/22 Lucas Digne

Honestly I might follow him out,

Wouldn't blame you.

A few lads who sit near me were saying they've had enough of the bizarre tactics and general crapness since Benitez has been here and said they won't be coming the game anymore. None of us could understand Lucas not starting - completely baffling.

I know we've all said that before at some point, but it felt more genuine this time, very sad to hear and see - these are lads who've seen the few ups and many downs (including Mike walker) and have been going for donkeys years.

This feels worse than Mike walker.

Right now the "Baines is one of us" banner seems surreal. What's happened to us?

The team would be much better if fat Benny did his job correctly and ended this feud with Lucas. He should talk to him like an adult, explain his reasoning and tell him he thinks the team is stronger with Digne in it. Then he should listen to valid criticism and mould his tactics to work with our best players.

Yes, its a god damn pipe dream, we have a giant, fat todler throwing a unending tantrum as a manager. The only thing larger than his fat body is his ego. How he isnt more humble based on his lack of achiements the past decade is beyond me.

I have been a supporter of Everton since I was a child. I wore my Alan Ball football boots in the first cup final I played in. I have been proud to be a supporter of this great club, a club which has meant more than simply kicking a ball. I was privileged to see us win things, I was privileged to see great players in their pomp, I then went through the “it’s the hope that kills you years” which I thought were difficult. I never dreamt that the hope I had could be extinguished but here I am a 66 year old man who looks at the club that has been part of my entire life and think “why am I bothered”. But I am bothered, realistically I have more chance of seeing us in the Championship than I have of seeing us win something in the years that are allotted to me, but it is not the club of Moshiri, Kenwright or Benitez, they are merely blots on our history.
They say things are sent to test you, unfortunately Evertonians have been sent more things than most football clubs. We will be back, but not in my life time.

I hear you brother, I may be a few years lighter than you (not too many) but get exactly your point. The catastrophic mismanagement has been spectacular, we are a long way off where we should be. The fat Spanish biff needs to sign a Kevin Brock back pass in this transfer window of the club could slip into the nether divisions forever.

Don't know if this is verifiable or not, but seems like WestHam is sniffing around Digne's availability. If that happens.....

If Baines could become one of the (if not THE) best LB/LWB in the league under Moyes' charge, what might happen with Digne?
This is not a knockdown of Baines, I admire Baines the most, but gotta admit Digne is better skill-wise.

Sad times when Moyes and West Ham are stealing our better players from us.

Wouldn’t that be poetic for Moysey to snap up probably the 4th best left back in the Prem for an absolute bargain from Everton just because of Benitez’s stubborn inclination to ostracise top players.

Baines was fantastic to watch at both ends of the pitch but comparing Digne to LB is difficult coz LB in the main played in a far more settled team with a far more stable & long-term manager who believed in him. Digne should be one of the first names on your tram sheet and to just cast a top player like him away, and then to spend best part of £18Million replacing him with an inferior LB just because of Benitez’ stubborn personality is needless and very poor business. It’s not as if Benitez is doing well enough to have earned the support & backing to play his stupid games.

Was obvious he wasnt getting on the pitch and only in the squad in a forlorn attempt to not have his value further nosedive.

Surprised hes not been sold already.

He’s 29 in 6 mths and has been underperforming for a while.

Yes, and "why" is the question that needs to be asked. He was phenomenal when he came in 3 years back. His performances started dropping off in sync with performances of the entire team. How does an entire team start performing worse, when they were at least competent (if not excellent) the previous year?
