You are a good poster mate and I admire your ability to stay up to date with this shambles.
Honestly past caring right now.

Fully expect this lot to start the next phase of BMD as well.

(Some may have to ask their dads the Geordie reference though I guess..)

Pragmatically, I genuinely can't understand the bed-wetting over the Digne transfer/falling out.

Good clubs should be refreshing all of the time, and the fact that an ageing Digne leaving has been able to secure two highly-rated young players in positions of need is an example of a coherent and mature transfer strategy. On top of this, he hasn't been effective for 12 months

I really hope Lucas gets his chance at a top club to win trophies, he is of the age that he deserves that now.

It should work out to be a win-win.
That’s not the point here. Most people fully accept that, it is what it is.

It’s doing it in this manner that is the issue.

The manager has made it clear he doesn’t want to use the player. Which totally weakens the bargaining power of the club. The player doesn’t want to be here under this manager because of the disagreement, and once Benitez has made his pig mind up there’s no way to change it. Like how he’s convinced 2 in midfield should always be a thing or that his set-piece system works

So, you’ve got the power all in the hands of a buying club. The only team desperate enough to pay what digne is worth will be Newcastle, who happen to be a relegation rival and a team that digne will not really want to go to, so the power is then in the hands of a team like Chelsea, who can probably bide their time for a bit unless they get another injury.

Only Everton could let go of one of the best left backs in the premier league to a rival club at a time when we are heading for a relegation battle due to the poorest run of form in nearly 3 decades lead by an ex kopite who simple didn't like being criticised by him and was too stubborn to sort it out.

Says everything about who Everton Football Club are these days.
Digne linking up with Vlasic to get Moyes top four would be peak Everton!

Nope, peak Everton would be selling him to Newcastle and finishing 18th while they finish 17th and @Saint Domingo praising Sean Longstaff's "hunger" and bemoaning the fact that "no other manager" could have kept us up despite decades of top flight security.
Peak Everton Plus. If Newcastle sign James as heroic player maker as they dodge relegation it would be Everton+3 (For thanks the Spectrum fans).

newcastle taking our players something i thought would never happen

how the mighty have fallen

we’re a mess

Not a new thing, I’m afraid.

I well remember the Barcodes coming to Goodison one night for a game….and taking our talisman back with them.

Big Dunc ?

The next game we were away at Charlton and we sang the big “galoot’s” name all through the match :)
