But he was poor under Carlo? Maybe he has been told to change because what he was doing wasnt working for him or the team?
I know what you mean though, either way the player is done at Everton and only really has himself to blame

There are players picked every week who have performed significantly worse than Digne.

There is no other way of dressing this up. The manager let a personality clash effect his judgement on Sunday when he picked the team. He let his own personal feelings go against the best interests of the team and it cost us 3 points. For that reason alone, he should have been sacked in the dressing room after full time. The club comes first, not Benitez or anyone else.

I have no time for children in the workplace. Grow up and get on with your job. You don't have to like everyone but you have to be professional.

If he wants to leave to get champions league football and genuinely wants out and with him going means we can sign 3 players to add to the squad quality then so be it. I just really hope he goes abroad and not somewhere in the premier league.

Why would he not want to leave after being scapegoated with statistically the worst manager in our history?

I'd want out of my job if my boss was failing and tried to throw me under the bus in front of my peers.

There is another way of dressing it up: Digne is the only high value player we can sell and easily replace, and we absolutely can't afford to have him injured.
Though if that was the case, why have him on the bench.
To be clear - absolutely am not happy with Benitez, but we're stuck with him for this season. Clearly Digne is being cut to finance our other transfers, would be very happy for it to go through before any of our upcoming matches.

Correct

And why play Coleman as a left wing back and not use your naturally left sided player you willingly selected as a sub.

Anyone defending the manager in this scenario is on a wind up

I'm quite happy to sell Lucas Digne - it's absolutely the right time to do so.

I also think that Rafael Benitez is absolutely terrible.

Moshiri won't sack him though, he's going to let the season run its course. It's a ridiculous situation, but here we are.

However, independent of Moshiri and Benitez and how awful they are, selling Lucas Digne to finance sensible transfers is a good thing to do.

A lot of revisionism occurring in this thread , people asserting he was terrible last season even though he accrued 7 assists and dealt with a serious injury. Digne was quality until the injury, then as i mentioned before the entire team imploded in the new year and that affected his game as well. Theres a reason Chelsea are considering him.

Because Chilwell is injured.

More accurately, there's a reason why aside from Chelsea, it's Newcastle, West Ham, Villa etc considering him.

He's a very good player - but he'll be rotation at a top club and a starter at our rivals.
