Surely the issue is we have had managers who consistently fail to get a tune out of good players? Selling Digne is going to bite us in the crotch, I guarantee it. One of the best fullbacks in the league when on form.
“When on form“ maybe dictates why Benitez is willing to let him go, he certainly hasn’t had many good games this season or even going back to last season. Although he is a very good good player when on form as you say.

No, he obvioulsy trained all week then got a an illness the second before asked to play at Chelsea.

Defending a player who refused to put an Everton shirt on and play for the club.

A new low.
I doubt he’s ever refused to play, the manager has refused to start him.
The same manager who said Rodriguez was unavailable while the player was putting on instagram he was fit and ready to play.
I would trust Digne over Rafael any day.
I have no problem if the manager wants to get rid of bad eggs but I don’t see that here.

It hasn't been confirmed but he did report having the flu right before an outbreak of covid at the club. So maybe there was some legitimacy to his health issue. He seemed to willing to play against Brighton but captain caveman opted for an aging rightback instead because he had to satiate his raging ego.

If what Rafael says is true. Then fair play, let him go if he doesn't want to be here.

However, doesn't change the current spell we are in. Clocks ticking

Pretty clear there's been a disagreement between him and Benitez and he wants out.

Reading between the lines, Benitez is suggesting that he (Digne) is putting himself before the team and he's not having it.

That's a fantastic quote.

"Do we want to grow and improve or just to manage the egos?"

He's nailed it.

People would just like to keep everything as it was.

So they can say to their kopite mates that we have got the naughtiest left back in Europe even though the team is completely crap.

Why is anyone backing him? It’s clear now he just wanted to sack off following a tactical system and do whatever he wanted, and when Benitez called him on it he refused to play for the club.

Get this rat out.
