People would just like to keep everything as it was.

So they can say to their kopite mates that we have got the naughtiest left back in Europe even though the team is completely crap.

Why is anyone backing him? It’s clear now he just wanted to sack off following a tactical system and do whatever he wanted, and when Benitez called him on it he refused to play for the club.

Get this rat out.

The person with the biggest ego is the manager

As it was with Ferguson, Clough, Sacchi, Lippi, Enrique, Mancini, Wenger, Guardiola, Klopp, Conte, Tuchel, basically every top manager you’ve ever heard of

This is how a normal football club is run. The manager is in charge, why is that so difficult to grasp for some on here? He gives the orders, not the left back.

The people backing Digne are the same people who want Ferguson as manager.

Utterly clueless and zero principles....and, btw, the first to be bleating about no trophies for 27 years and dont make the connection with that and their support for crap players and crap coaching staff.

That's a fantastic quote.

"Do we want to grow and improve or just to manage the egos?"

He's nailed it.

If it was any other manager laying down the law to the players then the fans would support it. But because it’s him, that was simply never going to happen. He is not the right man for this job and never has been. We all knew how it was going to turn out and the fire just needs stamping out before it spreads any further.

No manager with a record worse than Walker has credibility to throw their weight around

The manager has to be in charge. People are letting their hatred for Benitez blind them to what’s happening here. One of our players refused to follow the instruction of the manager because it wasn’t good for his personal stats. He then refused to play for the team. This can’t be tolerated. At any good club, the buck stops with the manager, it’s not a democracy.

Why are you surprised that this is happening? It’s a manager that the fanbase unanimously hates.

So he's right then...and the anti-Benitez lot are faking their anger.

Correct.

All the players should sack off the " tactical system" it is a total disaster

I said when Rafael came here that we would see some surprising fallouts.

The reason for that is before Rafael came we had a poor poor culture at the club with half bothered players who mastered the art of picking up a wage and looking professional,

Digne is clearly at odds with Rafael, based on what we have seen under 4 or 5 previous managers - are we saying its Rafael who is the problem here??? I dont think he is.

Sometimes you need a character like Rafael to earth out the problems in the club. I dont get the adoration for Digne, he's been awful for a while now.

The boss isn't always right but they are the boss, you are correct. But there is no successful workplace where a boss cannot be challenged, especially when things are going wrong. Where things are going completely wrong then the person in charge has to take responsibility or they have zero credibility. If he wants to have authority then he needs to take responsible for this debacle since September.
