Benitez left his comments open to interpretation and so does that tweet from Reid. So now we have the media running with all sorts.

For me Benitez was saying what would Peter Reid have said if a player told him he didn’t want to play for Everton. It was meant as a compliment to Reid. I think Reid took it that way as well.

yep..

"If Digne didnt want to play for Everton and wanted a move...he would not have made the bench"

Raffa had Digne on the bench against Brighton. If Digne had said he didn't want to play for us, Reidy wouldn't have put him on the bench if it was him.

This was questioned at Raffa who then mumbled some rubbish.
You've completely misread it all...you're seeing what you want to be in the tweet and not what actually is there.

No, he's saying that if it was him as manager then Digne wouldn't be on the bench if he'd handed a transfer request in...a response that Benitez was requesting from him - "what would Peter Reid do?".

So, basically, Benitez had said he included him to put the interests of the club in any onfield emergency above his own personal feelings, whereas Reid stated that he couldn't have done that and would have binned him regardless.

How on earth do you need that explaining to you?

Which is complete bull because he'd already dropped him from 2 match day squads.

To me that's what Reidy was pointing out. If he wanted out, he wouldn't put him on the bench yet Raffa did...even though previously he hadn't.

Poking holes in Mr Spanish Sausage.

You have it wrong mate. You have twisted to suit your agenda.

IF there wasn't a WC coming up, or indeed even if there was but he was a nailed on starter for his country then I would probably agree with you. As it is, I think we still hold the cards, especially as there seem to be multiple suitors.
We'll see, but I don't see how making it plainly obvious we want rid of him helps our negotiating position but Mr Benitez, ironically given his comments on ego earlier today, would rather make a point than put us in the strongest position regarding this transfer. If I was a betting man I would suggest the loan with obligation to buy that has been floated in the media seems the most likely outcome, which is a shame given we really could do with the cash.

lol lol lol

You're sway out of your depth here lad.

Back to the drawing board.

Reefused to do what the manager wanted on the pitch
Refused to play a match
Demanded a move

...and there's some on here who'd defend that 'kin toe rag.

They should look at themselves and wonder where they've gone wrong. Because it's entirely possible to oppose the manager AND to condemn this player.
It was the manager who made it public, if we lose out out on money it's his fault as far as I'm concerned. I've seen a lot of jobsworths in my time who put up with crap from those above, glad to say I've never been one. Seems to me that Digne has something in common with me.
