Benitez left his comments open to interpretation and so does that tweet from Reid. So now we have the media running with all sorts.

For me Benitez was saying what would Peter Reid have said if a player told him he didn’t want to play for Everton. It was meant as a compliment to Reid. I think Reid took it that way as well.

Yep! That was the way I took it.

I'm sick and tired of the lies and misinformation being spread about this lad now. We're supposed to believe that he just doesn't want to play for the club anymore despite happily signing a contract extention less then a year ago. It doesn't take a genius to work out what the problem is here, there's only been one significant change to the club during the time since he signed his extention and now and its the manager in the dugout. The same manager that has a proven track record for telling lies about players he's fallen out with and being as spiteful as possible about how he gets rid of them. Digne will go on to have a very good career elsewhere after he leaves us, the club he signs for will pick up a bargain, the manager will have his rotten ego placated and his little moral victory, the only loser here is Everton Football Clu
Sound Dave, you'll be watching Everton get relegated with 11 Rondons in your side then.
Rondon, play football?

Reidy called out James last season when he didnt play cos he was "tired".

He tweeted sommet like "Tired? Im sorry"

You don't realise he's backing Digne there and not Raffa?
No, he's saying that if it was him as manager then Digne wouldn't be on the bench if he'd handed a transfer request in...a response that Benitez was requesting from him - "what would Peter Reid do?".

So, basically, Benitez had said he included him to put the interests of the club in any onfield emergency above his own personal feelings, whereas Reid stated that he couldn't have done that and would have binned him regardless.

How on earth do you need that explaining to you?

Precisely.

How is he backing him?

"If Digne didnt want to play for Everton and wanted a move...he would not have made the bench"

Raffa had Digne on the bench against Brighton. If Digne had said he didn't want to play for us, Reidy wouldn't have put him on the bench if it was him.

This was questioned at Raffa who then mumbled some rubbish.
