This whole episode and the way it’s been handled says to me that Benitez has lost his grip completely.

His tantrum to the press came across as more of a cry for help from man who has nowhere left to turn.

Shame but if he wants out, then let him go. Need to get a transfer fee out of him though, not a loan deal.

We have enough problems right now without another negative character in the squad.

and we need unity and everyone fighting for Everton right now!
Doesn't sound like there's too many teams looking to invest in this player. Maybe other manager's can see he's a wrongun?

Benitez out Barmy Army. They’re relentless in their negativity and will back the tactical acumen of a left back who can’t defend over the manager.
Thanks, I am not his biggest fan atm, he still has a lot to do to convince me he's the right man, but it's impossible to ignore he's been given a bad deck and the whole project needs rebooting. If he succeeds i'll be the first to eat my negative outlook of him. He needs a chance to rebuild though.

He's shot himself in the foot as far as I am concerned. He'll end up somewhere no doubt.
Reefused to do what the manager wanted on the pitch
Refused to play a match
Demanded a move

...and there's some on here who'd defend that 'kin toe rag.

They should look at themselves and wonder where they've gone wrong. Because it's entirely possible to oppose the manager AND to condemn this player.

We'll soon know in the next couple of games If there is no way back and he's lost the dressing room. This Digne tit needs shifting asap.

The case for Benitez would be a lot stronger if we didn't suck
Yeah there's literally not a leg to stand on at the moment. I guess I'd understand the rationale for wanting continuity after so much upheaval at the club, but I truly don't understand the Benitez worship. The quiet part of continuity is if we are moving forward. We are very much not, so you have to keep making changes. Unless you want to be in the Championship for the foreseeable future, and if that's the case more power to you I guess.

Maybe my last point on Digne - a lot of pressure now falls on Mykolenko, fairly or unfairly. If he smashes it then we'll quickly forget about all of this.
