None of us know what exactly happened to make Digne want to leave.

I can't help but feel this may not all be down to a disagreement with the manager.

Digne will be 29 later this year and at the very peak of his career now( or should be at least in spite of a severe dip in form over the last twelve months).

I don't think that playing with a mid table Everton is how he wants to spend the next couple of seasons and I would guess that his agent was asking around to see what interest there would be in the player.

An opportunity to earn more money and fight for silverware at Chelsea(probably) would be hard to resist.

I often think the agent often "unsettles" them too to get themselves another transfer pay day

In fact over his time here, his win rates in defensive situations are better than any full-back in the league other than Wan-Bissaka, over the same time frame.

The thing I don't really get is if the issue was about him defensively and attacking so much then why have we brought in two full backs who are better going forward than defensively?

Cant grumble about that in general though as they are young enough to be useful to the next manager.

It's really not the cut of him though is it?

He had an issue, he brought it up and the manager has acted accordingly. I don't really see that much of an issue there. Players come and go all the time.

We have enough problems right now without another negative character in the squad.
