2021/22 Lucas Digne

All the manager has said is that he has asked to leave. That isn't libel or defamation of character. I think we can assume it's true.

Benitez has not once said that Digne refused to play. I can only assume, as he's been so willing to say everything else about the matter, that Digne has therefore not refused to play, as Benitez would have said so.
But others are disputing it.

Improve it how ?
Let's be honest the defensive side of his game was not why he was bought and that's there for all to see
The manager was never my first choice but enough is enough.
We need direction right now and a song sheet we all sing from.
Moyes type if you like. And I wanted him gone before he [Poor language removed] on us to be fair.

Compare this season to last season, defensively we are awful across the board. Not one player can say they're performed well.

We've gone backwards. A player mearly pointing out that last season "ya know, I got 7 assists and was our main attacking outlet as well us all being fairly solid defensively boss." Seemed to have flipped the Fat Man's bonce harder than Mike Tyson.

"You finished 10th! That is failure!!"

Sees league table....yikes.

Yeah I always thought that as I watched our left back run underneath a cross that led to a goal. Don't get me wrong even Baines was guilty of that lots of times, but managers have to build a team from the back. Howard did it, and Moyes(not my fav by any means) did it aswell.
I'd have a Pat Van any day over a Digne .

I won't do, I think he will have asked to leave. I think the issues are the reason why that is. It seems him and the manager just can't get on. I really don't like the fact we have to pick the manager over the player in this instance. Not because I think Digne is incredible, or unsellable, but because this manager is dreadful and has taken us backwards and will continue to do so. He isn't the manager for the future because even if he somehow turns it around in the short term, he is just too divisive to ever be a manager at a stable club. Yet it's seeing one of our better players leave because they can't see eye to eye. And I worry that once Digne goes, then in a few months' time Benitez will pick a fight with somebody else. It's what he does and has done all of his career, I'm not basing it on conjecture.

Anyway, the best solution is to sell as we are looking to do. My point all along has been the horrific man management and public management from Benitez has left the club in a very weak position, when it comes to bargaining power. We'll see what happens. Sooner it's done the better but I can see this dragging on because potential buyers have all the power.

lol lol lol
What? He was.

He got that injury in late November, but he'd been brilliant. We were all gutted when we thought it was going to be 3 months, as it was initially going to be but he recovered quickly and fought back to be fit. Uncommitted and lazy, though, ey.

The players are THE problem here...they have been for years...,and WE ALL agreed on that before Benitez came along. Let's not forget that.

Hand Benitez another 18 months and he'll rid of this lot and put in a group of cheaper and harder working journeymen.

And I'd take that over these cowards assembled for half a billion any day.

Lol yeah the solution is the guy that has made things worse

That’s some twisted logic right there

For the first time in many years, I'm beginning to agree with Davek !! Think I might need one of them gambling site type time outs !!

You have to address the major problems head on. Early results were bound to suffer, especially after massive disruption to first team choices in attack this season.

IMO we have to let Benitez break it then reassemble it.

I'm up for that, and I think the carpetbagger is too.
