We we

Think if we are honest villa at the moment are a step up rich owners who have keep out of the way but have backed the club they have a really good youth set up a united club we are probably the opposite of that at the minute
They are a great club Villa and do seem to be run very well now.

Gutted Gerrard has taken over them as it makes it impossible to want them to do alright.

The amount of slack some will hand a player who obvioulsy wants out of the club (as he has his other clubs), and the refusal to hand the benefit of the doubt to our manager.

Incredible.

He was asked to play against Chelsea and refused.

Thank goodness this feller is out and we have a lad there now eager to stake his claim.

Digne will do well in that team as he has good wingers in front of him and multiple strikers to aim for. If Newcastle offered £22m plus Longstaff, I would much rather take the same plus El Ghazi from these

Let’s not get ahead of ourselves on that one Dave. If you are happy to say Digne has previous for wanting to leave clubs then I would say that Benitez has much more form in forcing players out, falling out with people and generally being stubborn beyond belief

That's fair enough. However, let's not paint this player as an innocent party with a previous good record. He isn't that.

Totally agree. There is fault on both sides here I think. Benitez’s press conference was interesting in that he said Digne is more interested in his stats than the team and I think one of the echo reporters said they’d heard Digne was obsessed with his own stats too.

While I understand it’s important to a modern day footballer (de bruyne hired a statto to help him re negotiate his contract if memory serves), a footballer should firstly be concerned with the result and then their own stats.

Depends on how all of the deals are structured, how much we have paid up front for the fullbacks and how much we get up front for Digne.
Just seen this. Assuming we are paying £5m per year for Patterson and Mykolenko over the length of their contract, surely this means we have a bit more room to get 1 or 2 more in. Unless this is just to bring us under the £105m rule

I guess my point was that, as with players, I'd rather gamble on someone on the way up (not Gerrard, obvs) than take someone on the way down.
Yes I agree. I’d take lampard tomorrow. Will have learnt from derby & Chelsea. Very bright fella. Work hard on his game, you’d imagine him being the same as a manger.

Amd I think he would play a very aggressive and the front foot style? With a young side

Probably, but who knows? Everything from the club is "undisclosed". Find out at the AGM in the autumn, I suppose.
