18 months? A bit of a lie. His form tailed off from Jan last year, when the whole teams did. Same as this season playing in a crap team and being asked to just sit back like a muggle.

Had a very bad ankle injury & out for 7 weeks until January last year.
Obviously struggled quite a bit since that. ( not the only one )

Its a myth he's been bad for 18 months , upto that injury he was superb linking with Richy , James & DCL.

If Villa are looking to include a player as a makeweight I'd be more interested in Hause than El Ghazi. Definitely need another sturdy defender, especially if Mina is possibly heading out the door.

If Villa are willing to give up any player to us for Digne then they’re probably not worth having.
