2021/22 Lucas Digne

Carlo was a dinosaur, but Nkounkou wasnt the only one he ignored, if he had shown Everton more respect and been more professional Lucas might of kept his game up too.
Well if Carlo is a dinosaur I wouldn't like to speculate where on the evolutionary chain Benitez would fall, a single cell organism perhaps?

It's part and parcel of hiring a manager who probably had contractual bonuses for finishing in European places etc that young players will be collateral damage when vital points are at stake. Gordon, Branthwaite and Nkounkou should have been given a lot more game time than they were but that's just the identity crisis the club is going through - tried to buy its way into the exclusive big boys club rather than trying to get there organically.

We'll be paying for Moshiri's mistakes for a decade, possibly more.

Let's be honest if it wasn't for benitez throwing a wobbler there's no chance digne would be going to villa...
Literally 12 months before the links were Chelsea and City for 50-60 mill
And in those 12 months he went down hill and seemed to have more interest in posting holiday photos on instagram then playing football well for his employer, do you not think Chelsea and City notice stuff like this? They can see how poor he is

We need to pick up 40 points from the last 60 on offer this season to match Ancelotti's points total.
Well were not going to do that but were not expectted to, this season is about building a platform for next season, in 18 months time we will have a better idea on how well Rafael is doing.

I genuinely don’t think Chelsea or City give two shiny sh|tes what players post on instagram.

No it's not. We were absolutely dire to watch under Ancelotti last season. It was like Allardyce all over again. Eight defenders and hope to nick a goal from a corner and cling on.
Carlo got away with no fans in the stadium, terrible management, at least the players fight back now, under Carlo several games were lost after 20 minutes,

Totally, these 2 need to be next, obviously there are players who offer us less but chances are they wont be on stupid wages and we wont be able to get a good fee for them.
Allan and Mina are easily replaceable and saleable, not this window though. Benitez is like a trouble shooter, we are just going to have to accept hard on the eyes football but its not something we haven't been used to.
Replace Allan with Longstaff

Replace Mina with Tarkowski

Mission accomplished

Come home agent Jaffa & shut the front door.

More will follow, I imagine Digne would have been popular with the other players.
He wasn’t flash, never caused any trouble, it’s quite amazing that suddenly under Benitez he’s a bad egg who wants out and CL football etc, I don’t believe Benitez for a second.
Richarlison has behaved worse on and off the field than Digne has.

Who knows what the equivalent of £30m today will be in a decade but using todays valuations being a £30m+ full back would mean being pretty much one of the very best in the world so being disappointed if one of these players you've never even seen play doesn't turn out to be that good just makes you sound like an absolute wally.

Theres so much wrong with this post...mostly the two bolded parts.

Just no self awareness.

It's on the face of it, financially, fine. It's sensible business.

But it's sad how it's come about and in the short-term it weakens the team. Patterson will be in and out at best for the next 6 months and Mykolenko is nowhere near the level of Digne. Both are promising talents.

But with this manager in charge then I do worry about us even if we weren't selling one of our better players.

In an ideal situation we'd keep players like we did Baines and sign the replacements like Digne.

Keep Digne and sign Mykolenko.

But now the entire football pyramid of success is built on sensible and smart business.

Your a mile off with those figures mate.

It’s a poor deal.

His value will be below £6mil in fees...thats before the wages etc.
