I post on here occasionally, I like Everton, a great club and part of the DNA of English football, Division 1 and The Premier League. Like most clubs u go through good times and bad times. Unfortunately, u guys are not going through a good time at the moment. But I think it is short term. A bit of a rebuild, a proper manager and the new stadium and it will look a lot better. I came on here to see the thoughts on Digne but bloody hell, it is hard to ignore Davek, an absolute sausage, ignorant, rude, hasn't a clue about football, racist and only on here to cause problems. I empathise with u guys for the crap u have to put up with as fans, but it must be worse having to put up with his crap on here day after day.

He should get the same reception as Barkley, Lukaku, Rooney, Mirallas.... etc but he wont, which says a lot about the fanbase.
You can be anti Rafael and still see Lucas for what he is, one time good player who went downhill, with a terrible attitude and no respect for Everton.

I haven't seen too much of him playing for u guys, but the stats are bloody good. I am concerned why he is leaving. Rafael is not dumb, if he is such a good LB, why is he not doing all he can to keep him in the team. Good management is about getting the best out of your players and not ostracising them. Rafael has been around the block and surely realises this so there must be something more there. Alternatively, Rafael has lost the plot and should be put on the shelf with Bruce, Alardyce and Pulis

He called it a ‘love affair’. When exactly was that happening? Maybe in the deckchair club at Finchfarm when they were arsing about all day at training then picking up 120k a week. I certainly don’t remember being in any love affair with any Everton team that Digne’s been in. In fact apart from a small run under Ancelotti it’s pretty much been nothing but embarrassment the past few years.

‘Love affair’, Christ does he think he’s Alan Ball or something? I’d have just left quietly after the years of patchy form he’s given us and then refusing to play for the club. Sad that one instagram post is enough to rewrite a very underwhelming tenure with us in the eyes of most.

He can’t defend. The unfortunate truth no one really wants to admit. He’a out of position loads, and if he gets in a foot race with the likes of Salah etc. then he’s not winning it. Likes to dive in stupidly and give free kicks away as well.

I wouldn't be concerned, it's not Lucas' fault. Rafael has history of hounding out players wherever he's been. He even started trying to hound out Ronaldo from Madrid until he realised that wouldn't fly, so he then hounded out Rodrigues instead. The man's got a massive ego and is a terrible man manager.

Digne was brilliant in an attacking setup...or at least where the full backs were allowed to attack.

Towards the end of last season and now this, he's been increasingly asked to stay back. That really limits his game.

Imagine Brazil asking Roberto Carlos to sit back and focus on defending...thats whats happened with Digne and hes had a row with Benitez.

For you, its a great player and someone who appears to be a great person and professional.

He'll be 29 In a few months and £25mil + £100k odd a week is alot.

I think its a good deal for you for the next few seasons...but its also a good deal for us as weve brought in two young full backs for around the same fee (ignoring our new signings add ons).
