I haven't seen too much of him playing for u guys, but the stats are bloody good. I am concerned why he is leaving. Rafael is not dumb, if he is such a good LB, why is he not doing all he can to keep him in the team. Good management is about getting the best out of your players and not ostracising them. Rafael has been around the block and surely realises this so there must be something more there. Alternatively, Rafael has lost the plot and should be put on the shelf with Bruce, Alardyce and Pulis

Yes I could see him as a replacement for Richy but way below his quality. As a neutral, it looks like u are testing ElGhazi to see if u can cash in on Richy in the summer. Sorry! Saying that, ElGhazi is not a bad player, he was competing with Grealish for a starting position so that was hard and he still got 10 PL goals last season. He is not the cabbage many on here think he is. As for defensive headers, he is not your man, I don't recall him ever doing one and I have seen about 90% of the games get has played for us. However, he is not bad at tracking back and protecting the LB when you are out of possession (he is definitely a left wing and not a right wing contrary to some thoughts on here). For a loan deal for 5 months, I think he is a good addition. He is an amazing penalty taker, never misses them. He is on 100% for Villa

Yeah he wont be richys replacement at all is on loan for a reason and is no clause for us to buy him. I cant see him being nothing bit a squad player here and we have that already in mind for next season with townsend which is why the club looked at diaz in the summer. You have got a good deal for digne will be a good player for you

I wouldn't be concerned, it's not Lucas' fault. Rafael has history of hounding out players wherever he's been. He even started trying to hound out Ronaldo from Madrid until he realised that wouldn't fly, so he then hounded out Rodrigues instead. The man's got a massive ego and is a terrible man manager.

The lack of man management skills makes sense, he has had these issues everywhere he has been, but I am probably a little bias as I am not keen on the clubs he has managed in the past. But he was effective, my worry now is that he is no longer effective and still a sausage

Digne was brilliant in an attacking setup...or at least where the full backs were allowed to attack.

Towards the end of last season and now this, he's been increasingly asked to stay back. That really limits his game.

Imagine Brazil asking Roberto Carlos to sit back and focus on defending...thats whats happened with Digne and hes had a row with Benitez.

For you, its a great player and someone who appears to be a great person and professional.

He'll be 29 In a few months and £25mil + £100k odd a week is alot.

I think its a good deal for you for the next few seasons...but its also a good deal for us as weve brought in two young full backs for around the same fee (ignoring our new signings add ons).

And Toon paid 25m for Wood. That just removes all perspective LOL
