I hazard a guess come the seasons end Townsend will have contributed more to the side than Mr Rodriguez and his 20 games he offers a season on a 1/3 of the wedge.

There is a reason James is currently playing in a farmers league.

The system employed by the FSW does not suit the way Digne can be most effective so he will not look as good in this set up. Much like the FSW's style of play did not accommodate a flair player like James who offers little defensively. So Benitez will get rid and replace with some hard working LB with no attacking threat from Wolves, Villa or the Championship. It is what it is. We knew what we were getting when we hired the BFS(W).
The other player that doesn't fit the model is Gordon but I think they believe they can remould him into townsend2 as he is still young.

It'll be a shame, as DCL will lose some supply of accurate balls into the area.

I back the manager to know what's best here though. If he has to sell to buy in January this might be the least disruptive way of doing it.

One player is a French international the other is Niasse.

Nar he definitely wouldn't have.

Townsend is a crab. Rodriquez was world class.

1/3 of the wages? Is Townsend only on 40k a week ye? Thought he would be on more tbh

I can guarantee that, because I can see the average positions of all of our games, which are based on the touches players have, and at no time has it ever been a 433 in attack except when, in certain parts of games (like on Monday when Gomes came on) he has switched to that shape - and credit to him for the total of 120 minutes of football he has done that so far in, weirdly in games that have produced some better performances.
