Rom scored 25 premier league goals in his last season yet was not good enough for us when we finished bottom half. My god you are deluded.

You actually think we are still a big club? It's 30 years since our prime as a club. Wake up mate we can't attract the best in the world so we get players who are younger and develop them. As we did with Rom who has been called the best striker we've had in the premier league era than more people than just myself. But yeah, we are much better than Belgium's leading all time goalscorer. Proper weird

The best striker we've had in the premier league era? If you measure him on goals scored and that alone. Personally Rooney first time round takes that plaudit, Kevin Campbell did more for our club when you consider him in a poor side, Saha was a far better around player but was past his best.

I don't just judge goals. I watch how a team has to adapt to accommodate such players, how such players cost you possession at key phases of play that leave you exposed to the counter attack. I watch how attacking midfielders have to hold on to the ball cos he's strolled offside, i watch him cause the likes of Seamus Coleman and jagielka and even mild mannered Baines go nuts as he concedes possession time and time again

I see fans of a proud club lose their Everton principles over a player who will dwindle to a could have been/was never gonna be.

There's a pair of strawman right there.... niasse and tosun. Of which I'm accepting neither as the future of our side, just in the same way that I'm not accepting lukaku either.

Using your logic Liverpool would still be throwing all their eggs in a lazy Daniel struridge shaped basket.... instead the manager has seen the benefit of 3 footballing forwards. Sturridge who is a far more competent player has been used sparingly and accordingly.

I'm looking for a player more in the Ilk of firminho than lukaku.... a player who doesn't need goals against poor sides to suggest he's better than he is.

A player in the ilk of Firmino? Someone who runs about and works hard, yet the other day you wanted Rashford or Martial up front.. we disagree on Lukaku and theres nothing that can be said or done to change our minds

Odd he wants to go to Italy, you need a first touch and ball control there...
Probably wants to test himself in a league where defence is an art form.

Interesting to see a player like this in the modern age wanting to test himself,he's plays for a big team and on lots of money and is the main striker there and he wants to get out of that comfort and improve himself as a player in another league.

Quite refreshing.

Hmmm, that's one interpretation.

If we had him back with this team we would have a great chance of top four.

He’s did a superb job for us but the whole batting his eyelashes at Juve is depressingly familiar. The difference for me is that after just over a season and about 20 league goals I’m not wholly convinced they’ll put up with it like we did .

Agree with you mate, but that is the baggage he carries.

Definitely but you know what I mean about United whether we like it or not their fans are used to them being the pinnacle of a players career and even those that leave to test themselves tend to do after fairly lengthy careers . Let’s be honest we were mostly just happy to have him .
