Juve who have they got that's better then Lukaku? And Dortmund champion leauge finalists can't afford him but we can? I don't think so mate. Doubt he's staying here mate and doubt we are going to be the only team after him.
Dortmund might want to spend any money they have getting Kagawa back if Moyes deems him surplus to requirements and/or he forces a move after an unhappy season under Moyes. Klopp said they cried in each others arms for about 20 mins when he left.....err the italian leagues top goalscorer actually is at Juve mate, his names Carlos Tevez on 18 league goals and they also have Llorente whose on 13 goals in the league, maybe you've heard of them, their both rather good yanno, and they got both for a combined total of 8m. True they do wish to add a third forward to their line up, but thats the point with Lukaku he doesn't wish to be one of a front 3 being rotated around or else he would be happy at Chelsea mate
Have you any idea about the amount of massive transfers that happen in Germany mate, its a hell of a lot less than occurs in the British game, for example Dortmunds net spend over the past few years
13/14 +4m
12/13 -6m
11/12 -500k
10/11 +1.7m
09/10 -4m
Twice they've paid 15m or more, for Reuss 15m and Mkhitaryan 24m, both funded by the sale prior of Kagawa for 15m and Gotze for 33m
The amount of money in German football is much much smaller than that available in the Premiership mate, only Bayern have any financial muscle and the German is effectively Dortmund buying off the rest of the league and then Bayern buying them a year or two later off Dortmund.
so past 5 years a net spend of -4m for the second biggest team in the country, they've only spent the type of money needed for lukaku once after receiving their largest ever transfer fee, so yup in a short answer Dortmund unless they sold Reuss for example would not be able to afford him, and the stats for their transfer history over the past 10 years show that's the case, they only spend what they receive in, and typically its only a percentage of a big fee that goes on one player.
As their losing Lewandowski on a free then they definitely wont be able to splash big on a replacement unless they sell one of their star players, likelihood is they will try to pick up a forward for a bargain fee again like Drmic from Nurnberg and they have already signed the third top scorer in the Bundesliga for 8m in Ramos who joins this summer, ofc if they had so much money then why they acted that quickly to tie up Lewandoski's replacement for only 8m rather than splashing 20m is a mystery like ^^

Juve would jump at the chance to sign lukaku he is better then any striker they have at the minute. Do sent mater what there top two strikers are scoring there old and won't be at that level for much longer.
Right so why do we who have spent less then that net suddenly have more money?
They have spent more money than use over the past few years yeah. They are also a better team then us right. And buying a player doesn't mean you have to pay the whole fee up front.
Plus you seem to be missing players from who they got last season.
I would love Lukaku to sign for us lad but I feel like your just setting your self up for a fall.
If he dose sign then I will happily take you out for a few pints while you say I told you so and we can talk about how we will take over the Champions leauge, but I just can't see it.
Tevez turned 30 in February, Llorente turned 29 in the same month, hardly old for either player, and calling Lukaku better than either (especially Tevez whose the Serie A top scorer) is looking at him through Everton eyes mate. Long term he may go on to be better than either but right now he isn't and would not be a cert to replace either in the lineup permanently, more he'd be used in rotation with them, something he obviously would be unwilling to do else he'd be happy rotating with inferior players to both at Chelsea.
Lukaku at the minute is not about what he's gonna become or potential for a buying team, they will have to be perfectly happy for him to go right in as a starter every game pretty much - and willing to put up with a poor period of form should it come - like it did with us pre injury, else he simply won't sign for them. The level of expectation from Italy for imported players is frankly brutal as well, Llorente with 13 goals and costing nothing (as he was a free) has been regarded as a major disappointment by the Italian press, Lukaku scoring 13 goals for us is regarded as a hero,.
Italian footy as a whole is in the doldrums atm as well, with major purchases tending to be funded through inflated player sales to the like of the french teams from Roma and Napoli creating a knock on effect and that money bouncing around the league - giving it the impression of being more cash solvent than it truly is, if that dries up a little due to FPP or the French teams switching to target another country for purchases then so does the Italian transfer activity for big money signings.
Dortmund do spend a fair bit every year over the past 3 years, but its always funded by player sales, their a classic example of a selling club very much in the same vein as the likes of Porto and Benfica, buy low sell high, invest the inflated transfer fee of 1 or 2 players out to buy 5-6 in, their recent acquisition of Ramos and their pursuit of Volland in the German media, links with Kagawa being brought home, the likely bringing back of Sahin as well will all take priority for them this season, probably being funded by a big sale to cover the 35-40m or so they will need to get all those deals done.
I'm honestly not getting all gooey eyed and losing perspective on our chances of getting Lukaku mate, i believe that everything is in place to sort the deal once the seasons over and the window opens again (if we qualify for CL) and the spanner in the works comes if we fail to achieve that combined with something major happening at a team currently unable to offer him what he wants - guaranteed CL football as a starter.
A hell of a lot of stories will be written over the next few months linking Lukaku with all sorts, mainly by lazy journalists, Tottenham - when he has stated he wants CL footy, the rs will get linked no doubt about it - even though they can't offer anything better than rotation, he will also get linked with 'money' clubs, despite the fact those teams are exactly the same situations in having at best a rotation to offer him up front, something he's on record as saying he doesn't want to be a part of.
Luckily for us the 4 teams actually most in need and able to offer him the role he demands roughly are Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs and Dortmund, Dortmund are already doing deals for forwards, Chelsea have Mourinho who for whatever reason doesn't want him, Arsenal will never be sold a player by him whilst Wenger is their, and Spurs are well spurs...
Will be honest in the fact i know I'm set up for a fall but it's not with Lukaku, it's with both Defour and especially so with Tadic as set my heart on that lad as he would be perfect for us, but think it's unlikely, Lukaku on the other hand I'll buy you a pint if he doesn't sign permanently
I really think we rate him higher because our need for him is so goddamn high and that need has been their for over 20 years now, we overlook the flaws and inexperience that other teams will see and think he's an impact player not a guaranteed starter, it's the reason Mourinho wanted a more rounded complete player, the other big European teams all have the same type of mindset, its why your not seeing many 20-22 year old forwards starting in Europe, the majority of the top CL teams are starting experienced 'old' pro's up front not people still learning their trade.
Much like we didn't sell Baines as his worth to us outweighs his value to any other team, we will buy Lukaku because his worth to us is worth more than it is to other teams who can offer the same role
my main worry is chelsea using him in a deal for costa but like someone said atleti might want courtois to stay instead
Whilst I agree with your Dortmund scenario they can afford to buy him if they wished there income level is quite high and they could probs afford a positive net spend quite easily. Still doubt they will sign him but I wouldn't write it off
He'll stay and become an Everton legend. Can see him going to Ath Madrid as part of Costa deal
Hes awsome -doesnt get the credit he deserves for me. Dont it always seem to go.
