Been saying all along that if our only two incomings we buy were Lukaku and Tadic mate then i'd settle for that and feel ultra positive about next season if we rounded it out with a couple of free's or cheap deals and made full use of the loan system again

By the way, I don't want to pay £20m for Lukaku, £15m I'd be fine with, anyway I reckon he'll batter teams at the World Cup and Chelsea will then demand £30m.

I don't expect him to sign at all. He needs CL footy to keep developing, we can't offer that. Plus if he does well in Brazil there's no way in hell tbh.

A realistic target is Bony, think he would be satisfied with some Europa League football. But I'm still not convinced that he will be good for us.

I honestly think we could get a striker abroad who will deliver just as much as Lukaku, but at a lower price. 14 goals in one season is not exceptional.

How many other 20 year olds have scored that many goals in consecutive seasons in the PL who haven't been deemed 'world class'?

I don't say it's bad, but for 20m I expect more. + he only shows up every third game.
With a limited economy like ours, I don't think it's a good fit. There are better options out there.

What do you expect for 20m?
I honestly can't think of a better striker that has gone for 20m in the past 5 years. Andy Carroll was 15 last summer. Jelavic was 7 in January. Strikers are worth their weight in gold.
It's either take a huge risk and spend 10-15 million on a lower league (Dutch, Belgian, etc) striker, spend pennies and live with Kone running our front line, or go all out for Rom. If there was a better striker available for 20 million I'd be all over it, but I just don't think there is, at least not when accounting for our need of youth. We need to be aiming for 2015/2016+ in my opinion. Mainly because Ross and Stones and McCarthy still need to mature.
