Hey guys, Chelsea fan in peace. I hope you don't mind me popping in every so often to see how he's doing.

You've got one hell of a prospect on your hands here and I'm confident that he'll do very well for you (hopefully helping you to deprive our rivals of points in the process). We've got some people close to the Lukaku camp on our forums and the consensus is that he chose Everton on Mourinho's advice, since Everton face a parked bus more frequently than a team like WBA which is going to help him develop his game in similar conditions to what Chelsea have to deal with. His touch and control in tight spaces is still pretty raw, so playing for Everton is going to help him develop that side of his game.

Anyway he's a great lad and you'll come to love him pretty quickly. I've never seen him give a lazy performance, he just seems completely driven and determined to improve - and even when he's not playing well his sheer presence is enough to create space and cause problems which I'm sure your team will appreciate. I hope he helps you in your push for Europe and you [Poor language removed] some title contenders along the way. Best of luck with your season and see you in 10 days.

Can we have him on a permanent deal after his loan spell please??

We'll throw in Jelavic, Kone and Naismith as part of the deal, you can't possibly turn that down??

Don't think so but you can have Torres if you want. I think he was going to be in our squad this season but we couldn't get rid of Torres or Ba without sending them to teams like Spurs or Arsenal which is unacceptable. Mourinho rates him very highly and tried to sign him at Madrid, but he came to us because he's a self confessed Chelsea fan and his dream was to play here. He's going to be one of the top strikers in the world in a couple of years, I have no doubt about it. We just can't justify having 4 strikers on the books when we play a 4231 or a 433 so it'd only hurt his development to keep him here.

Next summer I expect us to offload one or both of Torres/Ba, Eto'o is only here for a year so we'll probably try for Rooney again or Lewandowski who is out of contract, and go with whoever we get and Lukaku since Mourinho usually likes 2 pure strikers in his squad.

This would be my only concern. He's clearly a class player, but from the stuff I've seen of him he tends to have had a lot of space to run into as teams came onto West Brom (a feature of the obligatory youtube videos of his time in Belgium), and he also has had quality service from the flanks in terms of crosses, something I dont really identify this Everton team with barring Baines' occasional deliveries. I think he might have to add a new string to his bow. He's either going to be an expensive guinea pig for us to prove his worth for Chelsea, or he's going to adapt and continue to smash teams up.

Decent post that mate. Thanks for the info. Stick around, we have quite a few non Eberton posters on here, and you seem a sound fella.

Nice one. And welcome.

Got to say I was surprised he was allowed out on loan to us. I am really surprised Torres wasn't sent back to Spain with a pay off as he has been a shadow of his former self. Nice to here from the Chelsea fan, we obviously have the brawn (in lukaku) to open up defences, lets just hope we have the brains as well (Barkley, delboy, piennar and miralles). What is pleasing is that two of the highest profile clubs in Europe (barca and Chelsea) have loaned us two of their brightest prospects due to Martinez and his football philosophy. If they clubs can entrust Martinez with their best talents, then maybe we need the fans (me included) to show Martinez the same trust and patience to change things around for the better

Oh no, Martinez has gone and described Lukaku in exactly the same way as Kone: "he is the complete striker."

Romelu must be well offended.

You never know they might sell him to us next summer, or at least loan him to us again.

Chelski are a unique club like City in that they will buy whoever they feel like buying, so if they decide to buy the next Neymar, he might find himself frozen out permanently.

Imagine there was a clause in there that allowed us to buy him for 15m quid...

I don't for one second imagine we have any sort of chance of getting him long-term, nor that he'd want to join us (as there would be a massive queue of clubs waiting to take him), but maybe, just maybe he'll enjoy this season and get that feeling about Everton that so many ex players talk about when they leave. He has all the attributes to become a top, top player.
