Lukaku got ten league goals last year. With 40 mill you can replace that. It's nothing like the Stones transfer. You can't pick up a centreback like that elsewhere. Lukaku is not like an Aguero or anything. With 40 mill we could have bought any of Benteke, Sturridge (first time round), Suarez (first time round) Bony, Llorente, Negredo. Obviously whether they'd come or not is another question but 40 mill cash straight up often smooths negotiations. Point is there are players who were recently available who could have replaced Lukaku, not so with Stones. Rubbish rumour anyway.
 
Just to add - this Lukaku to UTD link is so crap. His mate is moving to the north west and will see him soon.

Shows today's media just trawl through the internet chat rooms and twitter for a story.Maybe we should get our heads together on here and make some outrageous story up and see if it get's picked up. Over to you Moomin :bye:

Negredo is 29 years old and only managed 9 goals in a city side where chances are ten a penny.

Sturridge is injury prone and has hit more than 10 goals twice in his career.

Etc.

The point is, most of the players you list are not of lukakus potential for their age, or have other problems, before you even entertain the idea that Everton would be an attract proposition to them.

Agree to disagree mate. We can't sign a third choice CB but we're going to "easily" get an elite striker? Just don't see us being able to sign those players.
