I hate that concept so very very much.
I don't really want to think of what a player will be worth 2 years down the line. I want a player bought in who makes a positive impact on the team. Then discuss whether he has worth what we paid for him or not.Agreed mate Evertonians would rather buy for the prospect of making money 3 to 4 years down the line than buying players in thier prime to win cups and comps now, disgusting attitude
I'm not entirely sure that's true tbh. Buying Lukaku with a view to making a profit on him further down the line will be a factor for the board in all likelihood, but I'm not sure we need to do it. We could at this point buy Bony, wave goodbye to making any profit on him and get 6 or 7 good years out of him without really worrying about financial implications. We won't like, but we could.
He's the complete forward, reminds me very much of Alan Shearer. Awesome hold up play, strength, great in the air, works hard, great shot. I would spend £20m no hesitation.
Don't you dare compare Big Wilfried Style to those two.So you'd spend £20m on a player who has had one good season in the Premier League? Yet £20m on a 21 year old with a 1 in 2 record in the Premier League over two seasons is bad value?
Michu and Jelavic spring to mind.

The mentality is all to cock really. That's what I have a problem with more than anything. You are thinking about how much you can get for a player you haven't bought yet. How are you supposed to build teams with that attitude?Sorry to have to keep using the swamp club across the park for my arguments but this no resale value on someone 26 or over is utter clap trap, Suarez was bought in his prime now at 27 or something his resale value has at least trebled, this resale excuse is pure nonesense
Is right.Strange the last few pages, people saying for 20 - 2
I would prefer Lukaku, but the only reason i say that is for resale value. For 20 - 25 million, its a bargain really. He keeps scoring and progressing we would double that amount no bother with his age. Bony, would be happy if we got him, but the 6 year age difference with Lukaku is the big swinger for me. We need to go down the moneyball road due to the ineptness of the board.
