Lukaku

What I just saw from Lukaku was class though, going over to the lad who replaced him and scored at the final whistle and giving him a hug and congratulating him.

He could easily have had his nose put out of joint and sulked, but that was class.

Class? you shouldn't be so gullible, it's called saving face, he acted like a twit and then tried to slime-ily make himself look great, thinking about it now i haven't seen a player sulk and moan as much as him when someone (manager or team mate) hasn't done what he wanted, come on peeps don't say, yes but he's 21 and this can be worked on

This ego talk, i don't see it. I think you are putting 2 plus 2 and getting 752.
Perhaps the wrong word, but from what I see he doesn't put enough effort in, like he knows he will perform well. His body language summed it up today, most of the time he is standing there, instead of moving about into little spaces and begging for the ball, you just don't see that in him anymore. No enthusiasm whatsoever.

Over the last 12 years we'e got used to strikers who will run their balls off and loving them for their effort. Bent, Cahill, Johnson, Radzinski etc. The only strikers we've had who have only come to life with the ball at their feet have been Lukaku and Yak, and they're the ones who have scored us the goals. Saha too if he'd stayed fit. You'd rarely see him busting a gut to run the channel but he'd score more goals than someone who did.

The point I'm trying to make is we need to get over this obsession with having a striker who will do the donkey work. Give me a 20 goal a season striker who has a reputation of being lazy and having an ego because he doesn't run himself into the ground every game over one who chases every lost cause and gets you 7 goals a season.

You'd never catch Duncan McKenzie working his balls off and Duncan McKenzie is magic.

He does work hard off the ball.

People at the match often moan that he's out on the wing, why ? Because he's gone there looking to get involved in the play.

He doesn't work hard all the time lad and you know it, He sails through some games like he's not arsed

Tell us something we don't know mate, the fact is he is getting worse not better as his ego grows, he is making the team worse by being on the pitch, we have twice now on the bounce, we can't afford this liability

Thats not a fact, its your opinion. He has been up and down in his performances since moving to Chelsea, but he has consistently scored goals. Whether you like it or not that scoring record in the league more often than not will mean he is a minimum 15mil, that fact he is scoring that much at such an early age will mean minimum 20mil I would think.

its pure conjecture to say he has a bad attitude. I dont care if he has an ego, so long as the boss thinks he fits in will. i don't mind he has flaws in his game and looks lost in some games because like with Ross you have to accept these negatives when you put faith in young talented players.

As others have said if he was full package right now and scoring that much he would be way out if our pricerange.

Bottom line for me is that he is a kid, and like with Robles it just seems ridiculous to be so scathing in criticism of players at this stage of their career.

I definitely want him to sign, so apart from being disappointed for him, It is no bad thing he isn't setting the world cup on fire.

Suarez would cost about £60m so erm, no.

Unless you're referring to his original transfer to Liverpool. He then cost £23m. So again, no.

Erm Suarez was bought for 23m LAD, Chelsea want 30m for Lukaku

Is Lukaku worth nearly 3 times as much as Sturridge?
