Phew....Magnificent counter-argument mate, you've convinced me.
Your figures are wrong, he didn't score 7 in 22 games. He scored 7 league goals between the 29th of December and the end of the season, a period of 18 games. Not 22.
7 in 18 is considerably better than 7 in 26.
People go on about his age but hes only 21- he is only going to improve and the fact that his banging in 15/17 goals a season with room for improvement is a massive plus for me.
Even if he comes in and doesnt do that well we would most certainly get at least our money back in my opinion.

Even so, a 1/3 strike rate isn't bad considering you're judging him from the point that he lost form.
It's really weird as I actually do want him back, but I can't come up with a justification for £20m.
It's got to be £15m, perhaps £17m tops. Let's put it this way, if it's anything near £20m, I'd want/expect a lot of it to be addons based on performance.

I see, you're counting from the first game after Stoke. Seems a little unfair to me.
Regardless, as others have said the season is 38 games long, not 22. Jelavic once scored a load of goals in half a season.
But he dropped in goals in those 22 games would you agree? In a very important period when we were fighting for top 4
Like I said for a player who is rated at 30m I would expect a bit more considering Naismith scored the same amount (4 more games granted) and Lukaku was a 100% starter in his natural postion
