Bony isn't that cheaper

Not enough that he equates a bargain anyway

Bony is a better more complete player right now. A far more gifted technical player who would work well with Ross and is great in the air. It's a shame he has no pace and I value pace hugely.

But it's not a question of Bony or Lukaku. There are players out there. There just doesn't seem to be any that would be great value in the premiership.

Well if we do sign him in any capacity, I imagine this debate will be the chief source of vaulting 10 months from now. With that in mind, I think my opinion needs to be more sweeping and unreasonable for that outcome.

I think Lukaku is a useless stick who isn't worth 20 mars bars, let alone 20 million. Purchasing him will herald the doom of Everton Football Club as we somehow plunge into League One in a single season, and are forced to sell off all our major assets and relocate to a new stadium which is basically just a couple of subbuteo pitches stitched together.

I would be very happy with Lukaku at 20m. It would be worthwhile risk but I would also be keeping both fingers and toes crossed.

The argument seems to be two fold. either;

We is going to be world class, he is only young and will get better and is proven in this league.

And;

Despite the fact he is only 20 he has a poor first touch and only scores more than any other Everton Striker for 20 years each season and i'd rather buy someone else who is probably not for sale.

Its simple, Lukaku came in and was our highest scorer since Andre Kanchelskis nearly 20 years ago (apart from the yak). He is only 20! He is at the beginning of his career and will not hit his peak for another 7 years at least. He has proven to regulary score in this league and people still question why we should sign him? He isnt going to turn into Messi overnight but it doesn't mean he isn't good.

I mean, i have used this analogy before but it fits.

Romelu Lukaku has scored over 30 goals in 2 years as a teenager in the Premier League and he does that for the next 10 years he will be scoring as many as top goal scorers do in the same time. Drogba, who is a very similar player to him, didnt start playing top flight football until he was 24! So Lukaku has 5 years on him already.

Thankyou.

I'm glad you agree that if he stops scoring he is Kenwyne Jones.

Its a bit like "get rid of Moyes?! who would we get - we will get relegated and so a Sheff Wed"

The origi looks quite good...

Exactly, some Evertonians still haven't learn't from when they were left with egg on their faces regarding the Moyes is the best we could hope for, how can they say who else could we get, good job these people have nothing to do with actual decisions made by Everton
