Listen lads its all plain and simple....Bk is quite astute in the market and has no option but to be as shrewd as possible, simply because he has no money and never will have as long as he is chairman of Everton. That is not to say he hasn't done well in the market but he has only done as well as our position in the league and our performances in the cup. He is great at keeping the club ticking along but don't expect trophies from a chairman that is possibly the poorest in the league. He should just quit and leave it to the big boys so our longest ever barren spell may finally come to an end. Out of his depth is what I think.....but it is only my opinion.

Thats an opinion that has my respect. One question...Who are these big boys of whom you speak?

Sorry didn't know. Anyone got a super fan gifs for this guy?

Well you look at the badge on your chest and that's how long I've been a fan for am I better then you now? Loyalty isn't measured by age mate and if you where this amazing fan and over retirement age why where you not watching sky sports when all this was happening? Or where you stood outside FF with your everton scarf over your head coz you are just so much of a fan.

Basically if you had bothered to read my original posts be for you blundered in with your pro kenwright agenda I said, the money for felliani was good but having Dave ring up sky sports and tell them how we are mint balls and sky bang on about it was embarrassing. Calling it a masterstroke wasn't right either because it wasn't like it was all planned out by kenwright. We got lucky man u had no were else to turn. If the herrer deal hadn't of fell through they wouldnt of gone for felliani and we wouldn't of had macarthy.

We got lucky!!! Ffs.

Oh dear! Didn't say I was better than anyone at all. You questioned my loyalty..all I can respond to that with is the fact that I've supported Everton for 66 years or so. I can't find many other posts saying that Dave Whelan had embarrassed us...maybe it was just you..and you are of course entitled to your opinion. Just like the rest of us. And I certainly didn't 'blunder' in to the thread, I read most stuff on here avidly, although don't post as much as I used to. Also have Sky Sports on all day while I'm at home. Anyway...onward and upward........

I think BK deserves a bit more credit over this.

Man United wanted Felliani and Baines. Before deadline day all the bids were joint bids for the two players. And they were playing every trick to pressurize us into selling, feeding stories to the media all summer. BK stood firm, refused to sell Baines, and presumably made it clear that we wouldn't let Felli go for less than the £23m that was in his release clause. So that's two achievements already : keeping hold of Baines and holding out against United's valuation of Fellaini. The opportunity to get an extra £3m on deadline day may seem in hindsight like a stroke of luck. But you have to remember that United resisted paying up until the last minute. It must have taken a lot of nerve, firstly to demand the extra money, and then have the brinkmanship not to crumble as the deadline approached and settle for a lower figure. You could argue that he took too many risks, but he showed some balls, and it paid off.

I walked near to the Kings Road today and didnt see anyone in a Lukaku shirt, though to be honest there were so few clothes being worn by some of the female posh element that my mind was elsewhere.

So its on.

I like your optimism.
I can honestly guarantee being itk as I am, either it was never on and they havn't even enquired... it's totally on and he's arranging his medical as we speak... Or somewhere in between.

Hope that clarifies things.

No, it does not.

If we have a boss window 'Martinez has pulled a blinder'. If we have a bad one 'BK out'. Thats the way it is. Same as the way the manager who brought us Coleman, Stones, Arteta, Pienaar, and Gibson for less than 10 mill combined gets called 'dithering'.

You have missed out the other signings that sucked.

Getting 4 million over the release clause for a player we didn't want and still having time to buy the target we really did want.

Yea love or hate him, you wouldn't want to play poker with him.

Nobody is perfect in the transfer market. Nobody. And players that didn't work out as planned we generally moved on without loss in fees. Overall Kenwright/Moyes were very shrewd in the transfer market. Trying to paint them as anything else is just daft.

That argument is pretty weak, though. You've got to play the cards that fate deals you. Everton - Kenwright included - did brilliantly last summer in a situation not of their making.

So none of us know who these people are? Ah well....
Get a grip. Defend him all you like but as a person old enough to have seen success it seems a cop out that you easily defend the one chairman who is not capable of bringing it back and has been responsible for our most barren run. The man cannot and will not be capable of bringing any sustained success to our club..........the man is a pauper in football terms. No one needs to name someone to take over we just know someone has to if we want success at this club again. You and bourneblue need to get a grip and stop telling people to prove things or to name people who should replace BK as its the biggest cop out. I would celebrate BK going as it would be a chance of taking a step up. Not saying its guaranteed but surely it would give us Evertonians hope.

Although he doesn't provide the funds, when he sells a player he makes sure we never get bent over, does our Bill. The amount he managed to get for Rodwell, Lescott and Fellaini is genuinely phenomenal, I've heard from more than one reliable person that outside the negotiating room he's as cordial as you like, but inside he's a brutal man.
