What do all the top teams in Europe have in common? A top class striker. (Aside from Chelsea) Signing Lukaku is our best hope of getting such a £50m rated striker. If he wants to play for us we need to make it happen. A striker like him can cover a lot of holes in the squad. Conversely, you need £££ to buy quality throughout the rest of the squad to be competitive without one. If Everton want to get back to where we belong, this signing needs to happen.

He's good, and I agree about top teams needing a top striker, but no way is he worth £50m.

£20-25m absolute max.

I would. I don't think he's worth that.

I'd love him here, but I feel he's only worth about half that. He scored how many this season? 17? For top cash I'd want 20+ goals. Please don't misread that as me not wanting him - he's great and I want him here, but he's not worth that.

He's not worth £50m but I believe he will be. He doesn't even have to improve. If he scores 15+ goals in each of the next two seasons he'll be rated at least that highly.

I'm looking at the medium/long term. I think our goal should be to win the league once before Bobby moves on. Meaning in the next 3-4 years.

He's not a sure thing, but we can't afford a sure thing and he's the closest to it, IMO.

I think he will go for no more than 18-22m Bryan but I don't think he will be coming to us. I have a feeling that he thinks he's slightly above us and can do better at this moment in his career but wouldn't want to be disrespectful and come out and say it, and we wouldn't want to admit that and throw a bid in that would be accepted only to be rejected by him. He gave us a cracking season, if he came back I would be chuffed but I'm sure our Bobby has 5 alternatives lined up and will work the loan market like a magician again.
