Romelu Lukaku has now scored 36 goals in the Premier League since 2012/13. Only Suarez (54), Van Persie (40) and Aguero (38) have more. #EFC

He's probably given the ball away more through poor passes and control then the 3 of them combined.

Which means he deserves praise for the goals he's scored, and criticism for the poor hold up play.

One doesn't cancel out the other and both deserve being discussed.

He was absolutely terrible, but scored.

Which is basically what Lukaku is in a nutshell right now.

Potential in spades obviously but I'd have hoped to have seen a bit of improvement over the last 12 months in certain aspects of his game, not regression.

i thought his link up and lay offs were brilliant, but i honestly think it may have been eto'o half the time. my stream wasn't great and they looked so similar from afar.

big up to martinez though, a ballsy decision to take rom off instead of eto'o - i'm sure a lot of us were thinking it was the right one of the two to take off. i thought rom was alright today though apart from that woeful pass for their goal - he should never be picking the ball up that deep. just wondering when ross isn't fit whether it's a better idea to have rom playing behind eto'o? eto'o is so much better with his back to goal and in that attacking position rom will have more freedom to pick the ball up facing goal and running at teams. of course the big problem is you have an in form naismith and barkley coming back so who do you play where? ha

He needs to be started from the bench for a wee while, so he can positively influence games and get his confidence back. He used to destroy tired teams when introduced from the bench for WBA so will be good for him.

Haha I think it was Etooo

If he was limping and has a knock then leave him on the bench next week and start Eto'o with Naismith, McGeady and Barkley playing behind him.

May as well get him fit so we get the beast of last season back not the annoying one.
