19 this season can't be sniffed at, although I do agree only 9 in the league is a pretty poor return.

Looking at goals alone, say he'd scored 25 this season - more than anyone since 1986? - and 20 of them were in the league, would this impress you more?

Yes of course, I'd be stupid not to, but that wouldn't make a great centre forward if he continued to play the way he does.
Do you remember Davies of Bolton, now he was an excellent striker for me, battled for every ball, let the centre back
know he was there for the whole game, a team player who just wanted his team to win, personal glory wasn't his forte,
winning the game was everything to him, now if Rom was even a little bit like that I could certainly take to him. Davies
wasn't a great player but he knew what football was all about.

he knew his chance to move to us would have been this summer with his contract out - no way will he make a u-turn now and suddenly decide that he does want to come here this summer - no way could we afford him either.

Well remember we were supposed to have Eto'o but that didn't work out... what is more frustrating is the lack of adjustment/reaction by Roberto to that.
