maybe because you're blinded by some of his fantastic goals like alot of people on here.. its easy to love a striker when he's banging them in.. but when we require him to hold up the ball when hes out of form, he's garbage.. i hope we sign him, and i get proven right... just to prove i'm not egotistical.
I wish he would stop scoring all those fantastic goals and concentrate on his hold up play.

Perfect example of a good first touch followed by controlling the ball and scoring a cracker. He clearly can control the ball.

Er lads. This seems to have got a bit heated just recently.

I will blame the hot weather at the moment, but please, disagree by all means, (Mods are not recruited from North Korea despite some thinking we might be), but keep the personal comments to a minimum.

Thanks.

It's the ones who want us to sign Rom who are starting the heat, all's we're doing is pointing out that we could possibly be better off spending so much money on other players and we're getting called allsorts for it

are you being serious? the ball is directed infront of him, which simply requires him to simply move in that direction... shame there aren't any videos of his shocking back to goal first touches

Not fussed what side of the discussion anyone is on mate. It is an interesting debate.

Lets keep it that way.;)

it's an interesting debate when you debate with people that are open minded... not with people who just go, 'Lad, Lukaku is a beast. He bangs them in, and martinez likes him so he must be good' and constantly reinforce that point and then post videos of him scoring goals..

It's an interesting debate when people don't make utterly moronic statements like "He can't control a ball", when clearly he can.

Learn to have a more fair minded approach if you want to moan about people not being open minded.

utterly moronic statements like 'He can't control a ball' .... how is that an utterly moronic statement? it is a clear point which i felt the need to make because nobody seems to be mentioning it in a thread about spunking our biggest ever transfer fee on an elephant... OK~?

But his close control isn't nearly as poor as you're making out.

He's inconsistent and has days in which his control is terrible. Other times, his control is quite good, if it wasn't he wouldn't be scoring some of the goals @Brennan has posted. His first touch needs work, his consistency needs work, and his decision making needs work. He's also 20.

Very similar to Ross. Ross has utterly godawful games as well, and Ross got rest. Rom had zero backup this season, if he wasn't feeling it, there was no option but for him to work through it. So you saw him be poor more often, because he couldn't be subbed.

He will improve on the things he needs to improve and be a brilliant striker for many years. I truly believe that.

Because it's simply wrong and you've been arguing the toss over it ever since. Clearly he can control a ball. The sentence you're looking for is "His control isn't the best". If you can't see the difference then you may as well stop posting.
