Lad, Lukaku is a beast. He bangs them in, and martinez likes him so he must be good.

But his close control isn't nearly as poor as you're making out.

He's inconsistent and has days in which his control is terrible. Other times, his control is quite good, if it wasn't he wouldn't be scoring some of the goals @Brennan has posted. His first touch needs work, his consistency needs work, and his decision making needs work. He's also 20.

Very similar to Ross. Ross has utterly godawful games as well, and Ross got rest. Rom had zero backup this season, if he wasn't feeling it, there was no option but for him to work through it. So you saw him be poor more often, because he couldn't be subbed.

He will improve on the things he needs to improve and be a brilliant striker for many years. I truly believe that.

I'm not talking about close control aka dribbling... his first touch.. his first touch... his first touch... his first touch...

it's an interesting debate when you debate with people that are open minded... not with people who just go, 'Lad, Lukaku is a beast. He bangs them in, and martinez likes him so he must be good' and constantly reinforce that point and then post videos of him scoring goals..

No problems with lads posting videos to show the attributes he has. But my take on the thread over the few pages is that no one is saying he is the perfect, finished article, but that they would love to see us sign him, because said attributes are ace, and the weakness he has, (which I think we agree on), can be worked on.

Because it's simply wrong and you've been arguing the toss over it ever since. Clearly he can control a ball. The sentence you're looking for is "His control isn't the best". If you can't see the difference then you may as well stop posting.
it's simply wrong... in your humble opinion... is this forum not open to debate? if you don't like my comments, dont read them

So Nil Satis exaggerated a bit. Big deal.

He meant his first touch is bad. And christ knows it really was at times last year.

If he sorts it, he'll be world class in my opinion.

do you not think the fact he's been playing all his life. and still can't hold a ball up (a basic) that, that isn't a major concern? because when he is out of goalscoring form, and we need him to perform such a basic attribute, he's garbage at it.

Will improve as he learns to play as a target man. He grew up playing towards the goal. He has to learn the skills to be a target man. He's only 20 and is scoring buckets even while learning the position the way we want him to play it.

He has talent, and the dedication to improve.

but it's not like re-programming a robot. or installing an attribute like Neo off the matrix... what if it never improves?

learning the position we want him to play? you mean striker? where he has always played?

A risk we have to take.

If he had a sorted first touch, Chelsea would keep him as first option, or sell him for £50+ million.

Sometimes you need to take a risk. This is Everton's best chance at a top tier striker.
