Lukaku

The thing is, Bony has 5 years on Lukaku. I may be wrong but havent alot of his goals come from outside the prem last season and also a lot of penalties?

Why would he not be a one season wonder and if hes conpared to lukaku I guess alot will saybhis first touch is better, what else and what are his weaknesses?
He's nearing his peak. His hold up play is better than Roms at the moment. He's a lot better in the air. He barely played for about a third of the season as he was steadily introduced by Laudrup as a sub to starting striker. Penalties distort his figures a bit, but he's still a very good player.
His weakness is a lack of pace, which he compensates for by being incredibly strong.

He's a complete player... 74% passing accuracy last season versus Lukaku 66%, 43% of aerial duels won vs 38% Lukaku. Better shot from outside the box, can take ball with man marking him.

if chelsea offered 30 million an lukaku for barkley now would you take it? serious question
No chance, he is the core of a future squad, if we do have to sell in a few years when hopefully he is at the top of his game I want absolute top wonger for him, to let him go as a makeweight for a raw and flawed, albeit very good CF would be lunacy of the first order.

Note - I'd still like Rom though!!

Reactions: EY.

Good players get the best clubs after them and are retained by their clubs. Lukaku isn't. Mourinho ain't daft.
His record speaks for itself mate. Opinions and all that, but if we had the opportunity to get him on a perm for £20m you'd be nuts to say "no thanks" imo.

Yak would of scored 20 plus mate without a shadow of a doubt, were did the chant feed the yak come from, was that just nonesense

Lukaku dream of becoming the player Yak was. Pre injury and despite Moyes tring to turn Yak into Marcus Bent, he was an amazing striker.

If we had a 2008 Yakubu last season we would have finished 4th - I honestly believe that.

laughable :) ... they would struggle for 15 between them. kevin campbell and cahill on the other hand.....

Campbell had a good partnership going with Jeffers at one point, i ain't seen a partnership like that at Everton since, if i remember rightly didn't Kev play better for us on loan and then when we signed him proper he sort of went a bit crapper, do players play out of thier skin while on loan and then get a little bit complacent when signed up hhhhmmm????

Really? Many I speak to agree that he loses the ball far too often and that his goals paper over frustrating parts of his game.

Goals win games, he scored 15 goals last season. He's also 20, strikers peak much later into their career (Agüero is 26, Suárez is 27, Sturridge is 24, Džeko is 28). I agree that he loses the ball too often, but is that really a big problem with us with McCarthy in midfield? He will learn to protect it with the right guidance.

He needs a secondary option. Buying Lukaku is putting all eggs into one basket with our budget. Lukaku needs to have an equal ready to come on and replace him when he is having one of his games. These games occur too often.

Its all very well being 9/10 one week, but we do not have the ££££ to cover for his 5/10 perfromances where he goes missing and everything bounces off him. His bottom level performance needs to be 7/10.
