Lukaku's Everton Frustration

Can you explain, it's late.

Well, you have Rom saying all along that his agent deals with his business. Then the agent says a contract is 99% done. Then news is leaked that he won't sign... and after all that Lukaku chooses now to make these quotes.

The motive is to engineer a move, and the tone is to cheapen the club to turn fans on him to make his move more palatable for the club, as he'd become a bad asset. Moshiri's motives were to engineer long term good will and elevate the club.

They are therefore not remotely comparable.

It reads to me like 'show me your ambition and I will sign'.
I still think he's being disrespectful with the timing of all of this but I would have to agree with him in terms of what the club's mission is. For far too long we the fans have been led up the merry path by Kenwright and to an extent, moshiri as well with regards to the failure in the summer transfer window.

I don't think it's as simple as that. When do you ever see players who want to force a transfer referencing the 30-50 year old history of the club and saying that they want to achieve the same kind of success?.

You don't.

And given that never once in those four years, as far as I can see, has Rom made a reference to that history or spoken enthusiastically about our club I am willing to bet dollars to donuts that speech was written by one of his agent's spin doctors.

Call me cynical but that is a very well aimed missive designed to do exactly what it seems to have done if the reaction on GOT is owt to go by.

Drive a wedge between us and EFC and paint him as some sort of a victim :(

Maybe he's talking about other players for inatance Mata and Fabregas who are considered top players but are not first choices for their teams. Both would have been allowed to leave for the right price and maybe they would have signed for regular football.

They spent £133m that year. £125m the following year. It's the ambition he's talking about, so far we've spent £70m this year and recouped £50m. Well within his rights to question our lack of ambition in the transfer market.
And that doesn't take into account the massive inflation in fees between 2008 and now (e.g. £25m for Bolasie).

I wasn't condoning what Lukaku said ; just stating that Moshiri wants us to win competitions, and not keep looking back at our success over thirty years ago.

The £50m was one from one player who wanted to leave. Not like we shipped out all our talents and didn't buy anyone

Should he keep his gob shut - yes.
Is he right ? Deffo.

If he has been promised that we are signing Mata, Coubilley etc and have ended up with Valencia and Williams I can see why he is brasses off.

The timing of this is awful, but the guy speaks sense.

It reinforces Moshiri's comments earlier in the season about us needing to stop acting like a "museum"

Our best player is ambitious & our owner is ambitious.

Those who have been happy with 'plucky little Everton' over the past few decades need removing from our club. Elstone and the rest of the "Magificent 7th" bellends should be packing their bags asap

To me, he doesn't want to be here.

Simple as.

No amount of platitudes will convince me and I suspect the vast majority of posters on here any differently.

Blaming the board us just an easy way out.

If he had came out with that when the season was over and moved on I could have happily lived with never seeing him play for Everton again.

Now I have to look at him taking a big wage from my team another four or five times between now and May.

And I am sure he will be as de-motivated about EFC as I am about him.
Lucky we dont go to the away games mate. I feel let down by him. Always supported him but dont understand the timing or purpose of all this. The anti Moshiri people on here are loving it.

FFP. You can't spend money like that anymore without selling players. Completely different situations
