Is going to be him or Oviedo at the weekend?

Or will Martinez play three at the back and not have an LB?

......there was a report saying Baines might be available. Unlikely I reckon. Also not sure if Oviedo is fit so Garbutt might be last man standing. If he goes 3 at the back, not sure who the 3rd will be assuming that Jagielka is fit to join Distin and Coleman plays wing back.

Could be threadbare come Saturday and could do without the midweek games.

3 at the back!? We don't have 3 fit centre backs do we?? Unless he plays browning or hibbo there but seems like too much messing about to replace one player

I'd go with Oviedo if he's fit enough...as others have said, he came in for Baines around this time last year and was immense.

That being said, if he's not fit enough I wouldn't be gutted to see garbutt given his chance, not seen much of him but he seems to be highly rated by the coaching staff and its always good to see a player from the youth academy coming through

If we need to 3 at the back just because Baines is injured, Luke Garbutt and Bryan Oviedo are doing nothing at the club. It's time Garbutt made the step up, if he does well then Martinez might have a look at the Baines in Midfield option that was mentioned last year especially now with Barry injured.

“It will be wrong for us to rush Bryan just because Leighton has got an injury,” Martinez added. “Tyias Browning or Luke Garbutt, there could be an opportunity for a youngster who has been working hard in that department.

From the OS....there's that debate settled then. It will be Baines or garbutt I recon, be wrong for Martinez to pick a player in his wrong position (browning) rather than giving garbutt his chance

If you think an international class full back can't switch flanks your f**king deluded

Why push our biggest attackin threat into a position hes poayed once (and we got smashed)

Moveing hibbert there woukd make sense to shackle downing, not coleman

Garbutt shoukd play regardless

garbutt is clearly not ready for first team premiership football. Oviedo is the obvious replacement but he has missed nearly a year and can't be fit. He has 2 choices . swing distan out there and play a rookie CB or swing seamus out there and pick Hibbo at RB
